Steve Gibson open letter to Derby Administrators

I think the whole point of Gibson's claim is to force the EFL to admit they have failed to do their job properly. The compensation will be a relatively small value but Derby will have to admit we are football creditors which means they will have to accept responsibility and admit cheating by making up stadium valuations which was dismissed by the EFL tribunal. I think the only thing Gibson wants is for the EFL to actually take their own rules seriously and punish clubs that break them. It is unfair for the teams playing by the rules and if the EFL don't want the rules to exist then they should get rid of them. It also makes no sense to only punish teams that fail in their gamble of cheating when the ones that gain the most from the cheating, the ones that cheat and successfully gain promotion, are massively rewarded and face no punishments at all. The EFL should really make it a rule that clubs are within the rules at the end of the season as a condition of league placing. Any breach should result in the punishments being applied in the season that it occurred which means no illegal promotions.
Good points about the EFL but not necessarily the “whole point” of his letter. He also asks the Administrators to come clean on THEIR plans and true progress to-date!

I think this is correct. The administrators are tasked with coming up with a preferred buyer in just 10 days now. Steve Gibson doesn't want to be regarded as the one holding up any deal while he negotiates a settlement of his lawsuit so he's pointing out that nobody has communicated with him so far. It's fair to ask what the administrators have done so far.

It seems pretty clear that the whole point of Steve Gibson's letter is to call the bluff of the administrators.

I don't think he's having a go at the EFL at all. That phase is over. If you listened to the Derby programme two nights ago, the EFL guy acknowledged that they had screwed up, that this was two years ago and that they had already clarified this with Boro, which was why Boro were now suing Derby.

What Gibson is saying in his letter is exactly the same as the Wycombe chairman was saying on the Derby podcast ie that the administrators are full of bullsh1t and nowhere near coming to any agreement with anybody to buy DCFC, primarily because they have not yet come to agreement with any of the major creditors ie HMRC and MSD (who presumably are the firm WW chairman kept calling Dell ). Even if Boro and WW dropped their claim DCFC could not be sold without agreement with HMRC and Dell/ MSD and this is what Gibson is pointing out.

The other obvious creditor in this is of course the administrator and Gibson is simply pointing out the anomaly of Boro and WW trying to get their money whilst the administrator is taking the p1ss like this.

Carry on Steve.

Come on forest, get behind us bacause you won’t have a rivalry if we go.
And
We don’t have the money to pay Boro and Wycombe, the clubs not worth that much. I thought the stadium was worth 80mil

I'll be watching Forest v Derby at 12:30 on Saturday.

Not sure which 3 o'clocker to watch yet between Bournemouth v Hull and Dirties v Jawdees.

At least I'll want one of the teams to win in the Champo game.

For context, I think it's widely known that the administrators (Quantuma) have a terrible reputation, and only got the job because no other firm would touch it with a bargepole. If they are messing it up and only looking out for themselves, you'd struggle to find anyone who'd be surprised.

It's disappointing that Derby fans are well aware of this, but their hatred of Gibson is so strong that they can't bare to find any truth in anything he said.

Why does Mel Morris get away with this? The club is in £83m debt.. if he passes back the stadium back to the club.. then Mike Ashley has something to buy and the outstanding monies can be paid off! The longer it goes on the less they can do in the transfer market and the higher the administration fees will be.. until there is nothing left!

not sure he can just hand over the stadium that he valued at £80m for free!!

It's time the British Customs and Exise or tax office, acquisitioned this stadium. Then have its real value determined by an independent body.

Then Morris can either give it to the administrator's for a reduced prison sentence, or to have the full weight of the laws covering tax fraud and money laundering.

He doesn't deserve the protection of any of his companies' limited liability.

In my opinion, the unipersonal entity, known as Mel Morris is guilty of fraud. That's just an opinion and I'm entitled to say it.

Any Tory MPs, Rams trusts, B list celebs or blinkered radio presenters should be pooling resoueres and attacking the man in the pocket.

In fact, he deserves jail

If he hadn't have overpriced the stadium and sold it they would be 163 mill in debt
