Steve Gibson Deserves League One

Well to be fair it sounds like you effectively want him to clear off but leave his standing order still active. If he gets the chairman “wrong” you’ll be baying for blood again. All I’m saying is I think he’s aware of that and thinks the club coffers can do without the extra drain.

Oh really, don’t be so silly, thats just you choosing to interpret things that way when that is absolutely NOT what I am saying. What part of it‘s his club, his funding, his profit and loss whatever happens, whether the status quo remains or someone comes in like a Kenyon or a Levy. Mr Gibson would hire and fire such a person.

Baying for blood ffs, really? You went there o_O By suggesting areas and ways for possible change, clear areas of things that the club might look at to improve Its plight and you call it baying for blood, laughable

You can’t continue to make incompetent decisions year in, year out and continue to get away with it.

He appointed our worst ever manager, with a bargain bucket coaching team and the same recruitment team that brought dross to the club for the last 5 years and then thought a competent manager could bail him out with 8 years to go.

It’s time he started looking for an investor.
Shut up idiot !

I wonder if he knows if Jota has passed his medical with us yet Block21? It does seem to be taking an awfully long time :D

He literally only posts on the board to abuse people for challenging Gibson’s decision or to post absolutely awful rumours that have never come into fruition and never even gives an explanation where he has heard such rumour. The worst type of poster

Col you haven’t stopped moaning about Gibson since he sacked Karanka (in fact probably before then).. I don’t know why you won’t just admit that you want him to go but leave his cash behind. You’re entitled to that opinion, but you can’t have it both ways. “Oh I love him I just want someone else to have 100% power.” Unfortunately you have to accept that if you want him in charge he will continue to take the reigns.

If he did as you say and appointed someone else, but it didn’t bring about success, you’d still blame him. So it’s a gamble he clearly isn’t willing to take (yet) with the club’s limited finances.

For the long term future of the club, I think the team needs a clear out.

Too many players on high wages contributing nothing on the pitch, time to get rid. If going to league 1 makes that happen then so be it.

I would rather watch a team of young academy lads giving 100% win, lose or draw in league 1 than the trash we have now who dont give a toss.

Gibson has made mistakes which have brought the club to this point, however I believe only Steve Gibson can turn it round, even if it takes another 5 years.

No, I have questioned and criticised decisions taken, you make it sound personal with him, which is crazy. I praised him recently for acting and appointing Warnock. I praise him and thank him for his continued support financially I have said I do not want another owner, I have suggested he may need help, you know, like he did with Robson, albeit in a different way. I have clearly stated we all love him and have repeatedly thanked him for all he has done and tries to achieve for our club. You want to paint my views as something very different, quite cynically above. Many owners employ people to run their clubs on their behalf and do so successfully, why would it not be worthy of consideration?

I acknowledged it did not have any guarantees, but who benefits the most if it were a success, Mr Gibson himself. Look I know it wont happen. Mr Gibson has every right to run the club how he sees fit, As a paying supporter of the team, I have the right to offer thought and suggestion. You have your view and appear to want to paint me in a particular way that is very far from the truth. I was critical of Warnock today, I felt he contributed to our defeat today, I am chuffed he is our manager. It is possible to like someone, respect someone yet criticise and find fault with certain things and suggest ideas for improvement. I am at a loss why you think things should be so black and white really, but never mind.

Oh they’re not black and white at all. Your last post above is fairly balanced. 9 out of 10 of your Gibson posts suggest, though, that you hold at least as much resentment as you do respect. Sorry, but that’s my interpretation of your posts, even if you don’t intend to come across like that.

To say Steve G deserves league one is a total insult, yes we are hurting at the moment but this is the man who:

Has given us a new fully paid for stadium
3 major Domestic cup finals
1 major European cup final
1 Domestic cup victory
A number of world class players
A number of other top players
Pumped in millions of pounds and still doing so.
Just think about that and Boro, it doesn't really go together but he made it possible.

In all the years before you could only have ever of dreamt of that, no one would have thought it possible.
Maybe we will end in league one again but he doesn't deserve it and has given 1000's of people some of the best football times of their lives.
He is as big a fan as anyone on here and he will be hurting too, he cares, perhaps he cares too much.
I'm not from the area but I think people should be extremely proud of what he has achieved and how he continues to bank roll the club.
If I was a multi millionaire football would be the last place I would put my money, I'd just sit in an executive box or in the stands and have a go like everyone else because it's so simple to run a club, that's why the vast majority fail year after year, there is no guaranteed successful formula.
Keep strapped in for the ride.
Ultimately it's only football, don't forget what we have all just been through and continue to go through.

Gibson has long been the most respected owner in football. The fans have never turned. I'd suggest he has somewhat abused that in recent times. He has owned the club for over two decades and our current financial situation was steered here by him. As was the pitiful season we have been served up.

Resentment? You mean bitter indignation at being treated unfairly? Are you sure thats what you mean. If so thats utter rubbish!

I have repeatedly offered a critical eye on decisions and assurances given that never materialised. I have always been 100% sure he has the best interests of the club, its employees and fans at the heart of them. I never doubt that. I am 100% sure he wants the best for the team and always will. I am also aware that the clubs most successful spell since 2006 was when he had advice from Kenyon. Yet you choose to be a cynical so and so believing some sort of other theory because you fail to doubt my honesty when I say I respect him, am grateful for all he did and continues to try to do to support the club, do not doubt he wants success like we do. You are seeing things that are not there, in order to put things right in life we have to see the problem, sometimes we maybe aren’t always the best person to address our own problems.
