Steve Bloomer, became the third Boro player in the history of the mighty Boro as a league club, to score 4 goals in one game, when he notched 4 at home to Woolwich Arsenal in a 5-3 win, January 1907 & the 1st 4 goal haul at Ayresome Park

In March 1906 the Boro paid a fee of £750 for Steve Bloomers signature, Boro caused quite a stir when signing Bloomer, as he was an established England international & Derby fans were incensed that their great favourite had been sold
His debut we got thrashed 6-1 at Liverpool, but by the time his Boro playing career had finished he vital contribution to our 1st division survival, scoring 62 goals in 130 games,

Among his teammates at the Boro was Alf Common, who we had bought for £1,000 the 1st such fee paid for a footballer, he was to go on to be our top-scorer at in both the 1906-07 & 1907-08 seasons

Steve Bloomer, mentioned as the 1st football superstar & become the 1st England player to score two hattrick, he played for England the once while at the Boro but overall 23 times, scoring a remarkable 28 goals
