Stephen Walker

The kid needs a spell of fitness, and a good run of games to kick on now. People forget that he is still only 20 because he made his debut 3 years ago it's easy to forget how young he is. He has played over 50 career games already, Tav had only played 39 at that age.

If he can get 20 games on teh bounce and get a bit of confidence it can do him a world of good

who knows, he's had a couple of really bad loans and some injury issues. Might end up having to drop down the leagues to work back up over a few season, but I wouldn't write his career off at 20
The older he has got he has slipped back from being a promising youngster. Just doesn’t look capable at cutting it in the leagues for men. Harsh but probably true.

He's still 20 mate, not 24, most kids don't get anywhere near a first team until this age. I agree he hasn't lived up to his early promise yet, but that doesn't mean he won't. Injuries have made his career stop start so far

Well we will have to agree to disagree- injuries apart. Correct me if I’m wrong but did he not hold down a first team start at either Crewe or MK Dons?

Would love a local lad to make it I just don’t think he is good enough.

He did get a little run at MK Dons then got injured. I think he got 5 goals in 10 starts and a handful of sub appearances for them that season which isn't too shabby for a 19 year old in League One. It's a make or break year for him, for sure.

Starts for tranmere v Leeds efl trophy
“The third did arrive in the form of Maynard’s second of the night. Walker threaded an inch perfect through ball to the former Bristol City man, as he held off the attention of the Leeds centre backs to neatly put the ball into the far corner to round off a great first half for Tranmere.”
