Steel River - it’s not working

Thought this last season but having experienced it again yesterday, I’m more convinced that it’s an atmosphere killer.

I think it has a place in the matchday build-up, but after PigBag gets the crowd going, Steel River kills the atmosphere stone dead by drowning the crowd out.

Other clubs have anthems that the crowd sing along to in that spot - Sweet Caroline, Hi ho silver lining, Greasy chip butty, etc.

Please change this.
 
Great song, but its about the death of industry along the tees.

Robson and the boys "Lets Dance" is definitely a good un.

Shall we have a competition for the best anthem for the Boro?

No but the P.A seemed to be absolutely blasting out yesterday, the loudest I've ever heard it. Only seemed to reduce at half time when one of the sky bods seemed to have a word as it was blasting over their half time pitch side prattle.

On another note, great to see the kids penalties back, perfect half time entertainment. Although it was good to see justice done when the keeper saved after they gave that kid a second go after he'd slipped on his @rse.

Totally agree with all you've said. Preston last game of the season sticks with me. It was pretty good for song choice match build up I thought.

Dont get me wrong steel River could be played on a matchday. Its just bad timing for me. You can hear the odd grunt from the crowd when it comes on & everyone starts sitting down. Utb 👌

Please not Strings for Yasmin as sky used it to promote the 97-98 season and had a clip of Juninho slumped on ground at Elland Rd and to this day that is the image that song always brings to my mind
 
I see enola gay crept in there aswell .. its sang bl00dy often enough during the game but it is a feel good chant and gets most of the stadium involved

Steel River isnt upbeat enough for a pre game song. Have the club updated the prematch video too during the summer thats shown on the screens?
