Stanley Johnson

To be fair to Johnson the Elder he campaigned for Remain (unlike his cheating chancer senior offspring)

I was following a thread on Twitter about a couple living in France now discovering that after Jan 1st they will be limited to 90 days pa. in France. Ranting and raving blaming Brussels and the French Government, but they had voted leave. They will probably have to sell their house and relocate back to Blighty, they have lost their dream retirement, and they will probably lose money on the house sale due to the market. Hard to feel any sympathy but as Lefty says the Elite were always going to be alright.

At some point the Brexiteers are going to have to own this. They will try to hide the economic hit and blame COVID but whilst the EU27 can continue to move between all 27 countries freely, trade freely and live where they want, we have just voted to end our freedom of movement. Take that Brussels...

My son's girlfriend (French) just circulated that twitter escapade. It is utterly brilliant - in a really demoralising kind of way

This story has all the karma of that Lions/Rhino poachers one from yesterday. Please do post the link to the thread.

Aww, needed a good read 😒

Pretty sure the thread wasn't actually true, though the potential problems for someone in their situation, holiday home in France spending a lot of time there, planning to retire there and hadn't applied for any residency permits and found without EHIC they were stuffed for affordable medical insurance, is.

When I read it it seemed in the ‘too good to be true category’
Funny tho

I don't think campaigning Remain excuses him anything. As someone's commented, besides ignoring govt advice he flew Wizz Air - they don't sell connecting flights. So he had to collect his bags, exit customs & check in again. Bulgaria requires ALL arrivals to quarantine for 14 days. He's broken their law by not doing so before boarding again. Only connecting transit passengers are exempt.

Partners sister, staunch brexiters told us last week they are planning to go and live in Spain, though a friend has told them it's going to be a lot harder now we are leaving the EU
