Resurfacing work on a key Middlesbrough route is due to get under way at the weekend.
The improvements to Stainton Way between the junction with Hemlington Hall Road and the Cleveland Police headquarters will be carried out between Sunday (July 17) and next Friday (July 22).
This scheme has been planned for some time, but has been brought forward due to road safety issues caused by the rapid deterioration of this section of carriageway.
The work will be carried out between 8am and 4pm on Sunday, and between 6pm and midnight during the week. Diversion routes will be signposted.
A Middlesbrough Council spokesman said: “Road closures will be localised where possible, with traffic management measures removed as soon as the work is complete.
“We aim to keep any disruption to a minimum and apologise to motorists for any inconvenience caused.”
