STACK given the go-ahead.

The students already have food cabins outside the main college entrance which get used sparingly .
Students prefer the walk into town and a Macy D .
Prices will decide if the stacks are a success but don't count on students to boost the coffers.

How much are they charging? I've been horrified to find that all the street food places I used to go have whacked their prices up to 8 quid. 4.50 before covid. Still have loads of business.

It not really their fault though, my mate who owns a burger / parmo shop was telling me how much some of his costs have gone up, he tends to go with better quality chicken than most for his parmos but its gone up 110% in the last 12 months.

Is the outside area in the Boro one going to be under the flyover?

Bit of a shame if it is, a big advantage of the Newcastle one is it is a bit of a sun trap in the Summer or under cover areas for those that want it.

I think Sunderland one is the same, although not been,

The stacks may be under the flyover , but there is a large area next to it in exchange square which could be made into a seated area in the sun . Add some beer stalls and you have a new Pip market venue .

The area just seems far too small to me, compared to other Stacks.

That was my thinking too and theyve just put a load of street furniture where the bolckow statue is and its not very flat. Be interesting too see how it pans out. Centre square cant be used due to noise levels affecting the court hence why it has only ever had weekend events.
