ST Sales Re-Open to Gold Card Holders

Would West Ham have had more season ticket sales than they could house before restrictions came in, so they could only do a ballot? As if you have sold more than you can house what else can you do other than a ballot/lottery.
We are the flip of that having only had 6000 tickets sold so where under what the stadium could hold safety so the club went the other way and closed off sales. If they don't reach the max limit after the gold deadline the will go to the next level I am sure till they reach that magic number. Some will miss out but had they renewed the club would have had no option but to do a ballot as they couldn't give everyone a seat safely

They have more season ticket holders than can be housed, as do we.

Clear? I don’t know what their plans are for Fans next season

They’re waiting to find out, and until they do they’re not shutting the door on anyone whilst reassuring fans who were waiting (just like the club were) that their seat and price is secured.

That is the face of uncertainty is how you communicate.

Evidence of one club doing doesn’t mean it isn’t a admin nightmare. Maybe West Ham have the luxury and spending premier league money on it

It still isn't fair though is it.

One fan could easily get to see games where they compete v Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, Man C and Man U

Others may get Palace, Burnley, Villa, West Brom, Brentford/Fulham, Newcastle.

Yes I appreciate they are more likely to get a win in the second list, but all fans want to see their team compete against the best. Are you a gold card holder.. Seemingly not (if not, shock horror why you argue a different way to give you the best chance).

No system is fair to all, a ballot has winners and losers even if you get to see the same number of games.

Perhaps, but I wouldn't have to look far to find evidence of West Ham getting stuff wrong, in the eyes of the fans.

Is this the West Ham that sold seats that didn’t exist when the stadium opened.
A quick look on a West Ham forum and the list of questions raised only hints at how hard it is to organise.
As for Derby their only plan seem to be to suspend sales.

That’s incredibly far fetched, and it least they’d see some games as oppose to none as many on here are in favour of.

West Ham assured fans that the system would ensure season ticket holders could attend an equal number of matches. If a supporter is not selected in the ballot, they will be automatically refunded and prioritised for an upcoming match.”

You’ll like the Spurs system then:

“If any matches of the 2020/21 season are operated on a reduced capacity basis, Season Ticket Holders who have completed the initial payment stage will have an option to be entered into a ballot for the
opportunity to access a ticket for the match.

There will be no obligation to enter any ballot.

We shall aim to ensure that this system is well-communicated, fair and even-handed and that no one supporter receives multiple picks if others have not had the chance to do so.”

I love the mental gymnastics some are going through to find a problem with a fair system that would allow pretty much equal games for everyone, as oppose to one that purely suits themselves.

“Impractical”
“Admin nightmare”
“Chew on”
“You might just see the rubbish teams”

As oppose to just admitting “I’m selfish and want to go to them all, I don’t give a s*** about other Boro fans”

I am a gold card
My dad 86 isn’t .
We sit together
Now I have to renew and sit on my own ?
He hasn’t renewed because of the uncertainty , but now can’t ?
will his seat next to me be saved until he can go ?

with double that in limbo

In reality you do not know that. Some may want to call time on their SC, some may be unable to attend if finances have been hit or fear their job is in jeopardy, some may not attend for health and safety reasons. I have no doubt the club will look after existing SC holders the season after if they have not been able to attend this. They have a lot on their plate at present and am sure they will make an announcement in due course once they know the outcome of the Gold Card renewers.

I think we can write off the calendar as afar as football was concerned from March 13th to June 25th and the same for renewals. The club didn't even say season tickets were still available, they just said the deadline has been changed to an unspecified date. It seemed deliberately vague to me and I know that was true for other posters from their comments, such as are Season tickets still on sale?

I would guess the average 86 year old will not want to go till a vaccine is available or infections are zero. Surely the club will use common sense and keep special offers open till such a time comes.

I hope I can still get to games at 86 - well done SR's dad.

If I can't go, I will contact MFC to release my place to a new match ticket. I want children and young people to go and experience what I did at their age. MFC should encourage this.

I’ve already said I’m not a season ticket holder and I’m not gonna be one soon

I’m not saying anything that suits me. My agenda/emotion is off the table on this one

This is the sort of thing they need to let people know, like Derby have with their fans.

And who's to say they won't?
I have no doubt that all SC holders from last season will have their seat reserved and at EB price until they are officially allowed to buy a 2020/21. i.e. The Derby County position.
The West Ham position is to take the money and faff about confusing everybody.

I am sure Middlesbrough will communicate this in a fair way.
They really are damned whatever they do with some.
Simply Red - you will have to sit on your own, but I'm certain your Dad's seat will be his when capacity returns in relation to his tenure.

As soon as the announcement of potentially reduced attendances to 25% capacity, approximately 9k for us was announced, we decided to renew, and it has paid off, I assumed a lot more would have seen the warning sign’s and renewed but it looks like many decided to wait, I do agree that gold card members should have the added priority though.

Totally agree with that. I would add, as an 86 yr old it is in his interest to shield imho, going to a game would be playing with fire for anyone, let alone a gent of his age. It is tough, but it is not the club that discriminates, it is the virus itself. i doubt hardly anyone going will be sat in their seat, let alone the block they occupy. They will have to take account of personal abilities, not everyone copes well with lots of stairs as an example. Even people going will complain about their seat, someone has already moaned about row 1

Damn you corona virus.
Imagine you got stuck with the seat your given during this carry on. They’d be some unhappy campers with the drummer in the west upper
