Regularly passed as a kid (mainly when taking a shortcut through the cemetary during Sarah Metcalfe x country runs) and never really thought of it's histoy, certainly never thought it could be connected to a 2 million pouns fraud.

Where was the church? At the entrance to the cemmy from the Fabian Road side??

If you walk from Church Lane, up the small bank and through the entrance gates. It was on the left hand side.
You can see it in the top right hand corner of the map.

Thank you, I meant Church Lane not Fabian Road (I've been away too long!). That's where I thought it was. Weird that I never noticed thst it had gone!!!

It looks like the Map posted is from the 19th Century.

What I know as Flatts lane is called West Street.

The bottom of Flatts Lane is still West Street today.
