Thought it was worth a thread to discuss the recruitment and how the squad at the moment looks so much better value for money than in previous years. Todays starting eleven below to me seems like a bargain compared to previous years, albeit we don’t know what fees were paid for loans, or how accurate transfer fees reported in the press are given all our business has been ‘undisclosed’ for a lot of years now.

Just a reminder, we spend circa £7m on Aden Flint, £8m on George Saville, £6.5m on Ashley Fletcher and £15m on Britt Assombalonga. Not that any of those players were at fault for those fees, but we seem to have really been tightening up on getting decent business recently.
