Spurs removing OAP concessions

We thought we had it bad with our season ticket debacle. Spurs have announced they are completely removing the concession for over 65’s from the 25/26 season. OAP’s will just get a concession on walk up tickets. Seems Mr Levy thinks he can replace them with a younger fan who pays full whack and spends more in the concourse & spurs superstore.
Let’s hope it doesn’t catch on…

God, that is cruel.
Money, money, money. That is all that matters in this society. People just don't mean anything anymore. We are never anything other than consumers, to these people.

It would be nice to see Levy end up in some private nursing home on a sink estate.
 
Absolutely shocking. It's almost like they are targeting a younger fanbase of ST holders. I imagine knowing they will generate a much longer longterm revenue.

It's fecking ridiculous. I hope other clubs don't follow suit.

I'd be amazed if this doesn't get overturned due to fan pressure. I can't believe supporters will let this happen. A massive PR own goal.

They may possibly be breaking Premier rules - the problem being though there is no definition of Concessions. I know this from being in a meeting with Hull City fans and the Premier League - their former owner also removed OAP and certain other concessions. The Premier League were very unhappy as I recall but it was difficult to take action as every club merely had to offer concessions, it wasn't defined what that meant. The Premier League did talk about maybe having to make a definition. This was a few years ago though.
The average age of Premier fans was in the 40s when we were in the league in the 1990s. That age level will be much older now as demand and waiting lists get longer for the bigger clubs. There will be a really big proportion of Spurs support in the OAP bracket. Their own fault really in not opening up the stadium sufficiently to younger fans. Spurs attract a large number of football tourists on match tickets but also on season tickets. But surely this will backfire on them. Big style.

They’ve announced it, so it must adhere to current PL rules. I’d imagine the PL might look to tighten the rules. It’s a minefield though, Spurs already only limit Over 65’s tickets to select areas of the ground, and I think I read only 800ish seats are made available.
Do you know Rob if the EFL have any rules in place?
