Spurs open talks on Spence

The biggest issue for me in the Spence transfer is it is bitter sweet, in the sense that we need the cash for a huge rebuild this summer(even just replacing loan signings I would consider it a big rebuild, without adding depth or upgrades on current players) but because we will be getting £X amount for Spence it gives clubs or players we are negotiating with an extra bargaining chip to try get more money out of the club.

Apparently he's on record saying he wants to stay at Forest.

Although I suspect its hollow easy flow rhetoric on his part.

His alleged party animal instinct is probably going to pull him back to London.

Hopefully we get him sold quickly and good luck to the lad, we've not done badly out of a Fulham reject.

Wan Bissaka had one PL season in a bottom half club. He went for £50m. He was the same age as Spence is now, who has played more than twice the number of matches.

I don't think Spence is an amazing talent, but I do think he is comparable to WB in terms of ability and potential.
I don't expect a ridiculous fee for Spence either, but this view the fee will be £10-15m is numb.

The only player Middlesbrough have sold for many years at a ridiculously low fee was Patrick Bamford to Leeds, as has been proven.
I think Gibson knows that Spence can bankroll most of a promotion push. £20m will be the minimum he will settle for.
Add the Derby donation and that is a very good start. A lot can be funded with £23m.

Apparently we are getting a fee too due to Spence being promoted as part of the loan terms. Not sure how much though

He's saying he wants to stay at Forest, just to seem like the good guy to their fans.

If Forest, and Spurs offered same package to us and same wages and package to him, where would he go? I rest my case. He's a gobshite

I don't think transfer fee is all about the players ability or potential ability although these aspects are obviously major factors in a players transfer fee. The position of the buying and selling club is also a factor. Spence burning his bridges here I would assume weakens our position.

Do you think he is?

Wan Bissaka had over 40 PL appearence before signing for utd so they knew he could cut it in that league.

No one knows if Spence can.
I'd say Spence is probably better getting forward, but is quite a way behind as a defender

have you seen Wan Bissaka defend for Utd this year lol he is terrible
