Sporar post

I personally like Andraz Sporar as a guy and really enjoyed a few of his goals!
Nottingham Forest away, Blackpool away spring immediately to mind
I loved his chant and I really like that he's felt the love here and it's another European player who will no doubt look back and praise Middlesbrough and our amazing fans.

However to get out the Championship you need forwards who can score way more than 8 goals.
He had enough runs in the team but sometimes looked to lightweight and like he couldn't hit a barn door.
He'll do well in an another European League, I wish him all the best!

Thought he was the striker we needed for years but it’s never worked out for him, sure it will work somewhere but he couldn’t be less suited for the championship.

Nice message, seems a great lad

Without knowing how much we’d have to pay for him and what his wages are etc, I’d be open to having him here again next year.

Think he got about 8 goals? Obvs if Balogun and Connelly hadn’t signed he would have likely (almost certainly) got 10-14. It’s possible that he’d have had a better second half of the season having got used to the league etc and therefore got 15/16.

How many players have we seen have an average 1st season before going on to have a much better 2nd season especially having never played in England before. Thiago at Liverpool being the latest / most high profile example.

Of course I’d want to sign other (and better) strikers but having him and Watmore plus 2 better ones would be ideal. But even a better striker and one of a simliar standard to Sporar / Watmore wouldn’t be too bad. Assuming Coburn is loaned out.

Of course without knowing the finances involved it’s impossible to know whether he’d be worth it or not.

Catchy song.......terrible footballer. Let's not make the same mistakes next year with our loan players. Fingers crossed we dont bring Brewster in on loan if Sheff Utd get promoted.

He really wasn't brilliant though was he? That song was very premature. Wish him well though

He obviously enjoyed his time here when he got the odd goal now and then, had a good bond with the fans, but if it weren't for penalties his record would be disastrous for a striker who played the majority of the season.

Be interesting to see where his next move is because he won't be playing for Sporting next season, wouldn't be too surprised to see him back in the Championship with another club.

H
I think sporting put a buyout of like 7 Million he is also on 75k a week or something. He will go on loan to some European team maybe Spanish 2nd division
The fee seems about right but If you’d checked online you’d see he was on around 12.5 a week. Half of what Connolly was on and a third of what Balogun earns. First season in a new country he was ok. Covid didn’t help him and then being in and out of the team basically ruined any chance of him getting back up to speed.

Fair play but that's 8 games he didn't start, and I bet in those 7 he did start - he was hooked after an hour. Thats a lot of game time lost.

I feel like balogun and connolly coming in "disrupted" him so to speak.
He generally got hooked because he was poor though. He hasn't looked liked scoring for a long while

Whilst I am not saying the Balogun or Coburn were the centre forwards we needed this year. I can imagine thsat if in Jan we had decided to stick with Watmore, Sporar, Uchi and Coburn the clamour would have been why didn't we get a centre forward during January transfer window as we were obviously crying out for at least one if not 2.

Suffered with our rotation system I feel. Seemed a confidence player who needed a run of games to get up to speed. Didn't benefit from not being a Wilder man either. What's it with us and strikers?!
