Spence

In the first seven games Spence played we won 6 and drew 1. Not just down to Spence, but it was a remarkable coincidence given our earlier form.

Is it possible the club had an approach but didn't let him know? Spurs were supposed to be interested. Fullbacks with pace seem to be in high demand in the modern game.

What exactly are these “unprofessional” things Spence has done that have resulted in him being dropped?
Nobody on here will know.
Maybe he deserved to be dropped, maybe not. But it seems in the managers eyes it was merited.
Difficult to say one way or another who is right, but as with most things like this we will never find out.

I remember when Spence first broke into the team, Woodgate made a point of saying he can't let his standards drop. He said recently that he has let them drop, which makes me wonder if there had been previous incidents, before Spence actually broke into the side.

Whatever Woodgate is hoping to achieve with his treatment of Spence, he needs to realise it's counterproductive right now. We need Spence and Coulson starting down the wings.
