Spence off on loan

I wonder if he's going to follow a (less good) Dele Alli career path.
no he just got to wait the manager out, and smash his loan again so people keep the pressure on why he isnt playing.
he would also have to smash it in the premier league and for his country to do a deli ali, at the moment he is just a championship player that hasn't done the business in the premier league yet

clear disconnect between spurs board and the manager, which they have brought on by themselves as they should know he is a manager who wants everything his way or he prepared to bail.
not that it was wrong for them to sign spence for the future, as managers like him dont usually last a great deal of time, but I can help think the lad was lead down a path that was a clear dead end, will conte been part of that? I'm sure he must of spoken to him at some point before the transfer was acted on and told he can have a chance at making the team, obviously we don't know how he has trained and reacted to the opportunity. But Conte was keen very early on to point it that it wasn't his deal and probably thought decent option to have just incase

I never heard many good things about his attitude to training and how he conducted himself, woodgate said a few things about him on podcasts where he was winging with him from day one, so if he not gone there and been a total respectful pro and wanting to pay his dues to get in his team I can see Conte writing him off quickly.

He should have gone to Forest permanently in the summer. Spurs always looked like a bit too much of a step up.

Chuba was given his chance again by Wilder and he took it, he just continued that form under Carrick and being in a team with improved morale has helped his performances along the way, let's not air brush anything positive by Wilder out of our history.
I think a big factor that will of helped him was if he never smashed things out the park where was akpom going to end up? he had a year of 25k a week then back to random teams in europe. No one not even his old team come in for him and thats why he was still around when Wilder give him the chance,
not having the option of a cushy loan somewhere hot abroad with easy football and your boro wage, meant he had to make it happen. now not to dismiss him as a player because he seems a very clever player and someone taking this very seriously. but when you hit rock bottom as a person sometimes that is what it takes to get the old you back or make you push yourself more and no doubt he is 1000% better in a 2 upfront situation which must of helped no end, but I honestly think that being cast out and having no other options left may have been the best thing for him, as you can see how grateful and amazed he is himself with the turn around, I don't think he had the same confidence and self belief in himself before this rock bottom patch to where he is reaping the rewards of being the focal point of our team for many fans

I think a team like spurs is what he needed, I think he needs that level of competence in the rest of the team for him to shine, going to one that was going to struggle would possibly show the parts of his game that are not as strong. hasn't worked out, but when he does find his place in the prem, I think he needs those around him to make up for his weaknesses and to allow him to do what he best at, I don't think he will have to wait that much longer to get a chance if he does well on his loan, I think Conte will end up sacked sooner than later, Conte is certainly hinting he may be off in the summer, sure spurs have a 1 year option in the bag and they are yet to activate it and think they may be sick of him.

a new manager would probably take a fresh look at him

Funny how some players have only really performed for one manager or system - Djed under Cooper at Forest, Adama under Pulis, Chuba under Carrick.

Yet someone like Howsen is so consistent through his entire career.
Probably because Steve Cooper supposedly wrapped him in cotton wool and treated him like he was the best thing since sliced bread. Gave him no opportunity to spit his dummy out.

Matt Doherty's contract has just been terminated, and Emerson Royal is not popular, so he may come back as 2nd choice under a new manager next season.

I honestly wonder how he'll settle in to life in a foreign country, might be the making of him? Wonder if he speaks any French?
Yes and the French natural petulance and attitude may suit his own temperament more. It could be more of a fit. There is certainly a player in there but the managers don’t seem to take to him do they?

Give over, he was a consistent performer. He wasn't bad under Woodgate either.

It's funny that Spence gets loaned out and he's shyte, Archer and Ramsey are loaned out from a poorer squad and they're brilliant signings.
