The way he plays is difficult to stop unless the opposition has an out and out left winger. But these type of players are extinct these days

Plenty of players continue playing with a broken nose/fractured cheek bone, etc these days - as you suggest, they just wear a protective mask.

According to the Gazette:

Djed Spence could be Boro’s masked man when Bristol City visit the Riverside on Saturday.

Neil Warnock confirmed that the 19-year-old visited hospital this morning to have a protective mask fitted on his broken nose.

Has there been any update on the incident/ assault? The referee said that he didn’t see it didn’t he, so that bodes well for our complaint.

Warnock said they hadn't complained, so I'd be surprised if they bothered checking.

Would have done us no good to weaken Millwall, they play Hull today.
