South stand atmosphere

Have always backed red faction and appreciated what they created in the south over the years (i.e stopped the Riverside from becoming a morgue).
However, sticking rigidly to songs that never caught on/ combined with the drum , can seem a bit counter productive as it competes with the songs that the rest of the south try to regenerate .
It's their perogative I guess, but when they do join in with songs emanating from the rest of the south it sounds great.
(From a SW upper perspective).
Without RF there would be no south stand. I'm happy with them doing what the fu ck they like as they (99% of the time) do the club proud. From someone who sits in the west stand. I do think the oh Wilder song needs to make a comeback. It was amazing hearing kids sing it as you walked up past the navi. It shouldn't be underestimated the influence that song had on the atmosphere.

I don't mind the Super Michael Carrick song but for some reason it hasn't taken off in the same way that the Wilder song took off.

How about our own version of the 'Had a dream, to build a football team' song?

"Carrick had a dream, to build a football team.
We were going down but then he came in and turned it around.
Dael Fry at the back, Chuba in attack.
We are the Boro, we're on our way back"

The Red Faction kept the atmosphere on life support not long ago despite the club trying to hound them out of existence. They deserve a lot of credit as far as I'm concerned. What they started is why the South Stand is now as full as it is, newbies in there shouldn't be moaning about which songs are sung or complaining about the drum - they should join in.
