I think it's 50/50 but that would be some match up in a midfield battle.

Stick them in the same team.... Jesus some think we have it bad with Morsy😂

I voted Keane. I thought it was gonna be a straight who's better and I was gonna say I preferred Viera lol.

Souness was a midfield general with range of passing, good vision, combative plus goals.. he was effective both attacking & defensively..

Keane, was bought by two of the best ever managers.. so must be more to his game than kicking lumps out of the opposition.. though, imho, was an expensive Robbie Savage but with a nasty edge..

Not a fair comparison, like asking which is the better car between a Rolls Royce and a Fiat Panda.

Souness was different class, I can’t remember a game Keane played other than the ones he started fights in.

Oh come on, man United were 3-0 down to juventus at half time and Keane, as I recall scored a hattrick. He played plenty of good games and a fair few great games. Souness was on another level though and would easily batter Keane who was brave as a lion when the ref was there to protect him.

Both great players but Souness by a country mile, although I would have loved both of then in our team.

I too would probably go for Souness, but this is just daft.
Keane was Captain and driving force of arguably the most successful English club in history, nationally and internationally recognised by everyone from Cantona to Pele as world class, I dont particularly like the bloke but undoubtedly one of the best central midfielders of the last 30 years.

Yes I was maybe a bit harsh on Keane, and Clough rated him so that’s good enough for me to think I’ve been a bit harsh, not the most memorable player though.

Sometimes I can be a bit daft, it’s my age I think.

Wow. Not sure your memory is up to much. Keane was great that night, but Man U were 2 down early on and came back to win 2-3. Keane scored the first, not a hattrick.

He was also booked and missed the next game, the final.

Souness 100% on both accounts fantastic footballer probably my all time favourite Boro player, was world class for a few years with Liverpool. Remember after we played Newcastle one time Tommy Craig for them was in the paper the next day showing his socks with holes in them where Souness had gone over the top, don't think many messed with Souness.
