Sorry to be a doom monger but i think we might get beat on Sunday

It seems likely, rather than a possibility. But it also seems that Boro, and other teams, are prepared to forfeit points early in the season while trying to negotiate better deals for transfer targets. The right players over a 40 game season versus some of the right players over a 46 game season. Who knows.

Can't see any good reason why we can't come to an agreement that allows both sides to win. They get three points and so do we and everyone goes home happy. We should do that every week.

Can anyone help me with this, by the way? I bought a doom ages ago and I haven't got around to mongering it yet. I've lost the instructions and I've never mongered a doom before. I don't know how to do it. One of you lot must know the best technique for mongering a doom.
if you leave it long enough without any care or attention they generally start to monger naturally. For accelerated results pour derision upon it.

I thought Sheff U were much better than us last season until I saw the state of them against Forest in the play offs.

Nothing to fear.

We MIGHT win as well and we could also draw, obviously all three results are possible. The only thing I am certain about is there is nothing to fear from Sheff United.

From the initial skirmishes I have seen so far no one looks likely to run away with the league this year.

Things will be a bit clearer as to our potential only when the transfer window shuts. We need to get two forwards in that can get 30 goals between them if we don’t it will be a frustrating few months until the window opens again.

Tough opposition but then so are we, and we are a wounded animal after last week too.……..and we all know a wounded animal becomes a very dangerous beast. This could be the day that kickstarts our season.
Big win today lads….4 nowt Boro with Howson among the goals.👍

I think we’re playing the league champions elect. Solid all over the pitch, leagues best player (Berge) experienced at getting up and on a roll from last season. Worried about today.

We win 2-0. Based on the old addage that we are consistently inconsistent, we are due an inconsistent result.
Drawn one
Lost one
Win one

The bloke who sat two seats to the right of me for the WBA game applied a generous amount of alcohol to his doom and that seemed to do the trick. It did mean that he had to miss the first and last 10 minutes of both halves to ensure that his doom was adequately irrigated, but for the 25 minutes of each half that he was able to spend in his seat, his doom was mongered to some quite unbelievable levels.

Looks like a super competitive league, lots of teams at similar standards, our defence is much of a concern to me than I thought it would be.

As has been said many times before, 10 games into the season will give us an idea as to where we stand this year.

I think we did quite well against a strong side, particularly after going behind twice. Heads didn’t drop and you can see there’s the makings of a good side there. We could and should have won it at the end there with Watmore’s chance but it’s a useful point against one of main contenders. The best is yet to come from us and we’ll be a real force once these new players finally arrive.

Really pleased for Chuba, I did not expect to see him in a Boro shirt again and he's one of the best since the Marseille friendly. Then there's Giles .. both have been fantastic. Gutted he scored his own goal, typical!

If true that Wilder has said he wants to keep Chuba and he won't be getting sold, then it is going to be interesting to see how it goes for him

Other than that, though. I am worried about a couple of things, still .. it's obvious Lenihan coming in has not started well, and with Fry in and out the side, what is going on here?? He went off at half-time today. I would be concerned if the likes of Fry left and we are left with Lenihan/McNair/Dijksteel/Bola .... we certainly need vast improvement in that area. I was expecting more from Lenihan and think he's been, well, not good enough.

I hope Larsen's temper tantrum in his post-game interview today finally gets his club to give in and accept an offer from us so that would be one position filled .. just let him go ffs!

I am looking forward to seeing what Mowatt brings to us .. hopefully, he will help us fill a hole as in midfield at the moment, it's clear we're fragile since the loss of Tav. The jury is still out on McGree, for me, like. Hopefully, he keeps developing and gets used to the pace and strength of things.

So frustrating so far, though. Seeing the quality of the balls/service Giles has been providing is first-class. If we get the quality of players we want before the window closes who can link up with him, and get on the end of his crosses, I hope we climb the table fast.

A slow, grinding start to the season, so far. Frustrating in this heat!!

Another thing. Had Berge to score 1st today then got locked out of my 365 account accidentally. Obviously, he goes and scores in 3 mins.. I was steaming ... WNKERS! :ROFLMAO:
