Sontje Hansen

Washed my hands with him after the Hull game.

His cheating antics and lack of match awareness / not being bothered about the situation we found ourselves in was appalling.

The Hull game will be as infamous as Yakubu's Wigan game for me.

I think people need to get over the time he stayed on the floor for too long ... modern day football.

Hes not the first and he wont be the last (Boro player and beyond)

He could still be a useful impact sub - at least for the remaining games

Yeah it's become this massive thing (on here anyway) and I'm sure it has had no bearing on his lack of minutes

I'm genuinely not sure on that.

He started the first game under Hellberg, before missing a number of matches through illness.
That Hull game was his next appearance, and he was brought on with plenty of time to go, after faking an injury in a game we were losing, with Hellberg visibily shouting for him to get up, he's then not had a look in for 3 months, even in games we're out of sight in or in need of a late goal (Oxford and Leicester).

It might be a coincidence, but I wouldn't be surprised if that played a part in a bad impression.
Along with Hansen's childish social media posts about "#freeSonna" in the weeks after that match.

It's not like many of the players ahead of him have taken their chances from the bench in that time either.

I genuinely can't believe how many people on here are still bothered about him going down like he did. Everyone laps up Ayling's shithousery and throwing himself over to buy free kicks to the point it has a name, but can't move past what Hansen did. Never known owt like it from any fanbase.
Let’s not forget Conway goes down more often than a whores knickers with broken elastic.

We’ve had a few others throw in an occasional dive as well.

He didn't say that though did he?

He posted a picture of himself on the pitch, in a Boro shirt, with the word "free" on the picture.

It was spun on here as some kind of outrage, but I've yet to hear any convincing reason to believe he wasn't just glad to be getting some minutes on the pitch.

I'm not arsed about it, I just think it's a black mark on his reputation with Hellberg.

But the comparison with Ayling doesn't hold up at all.
It's not the fact he dived that's the problem, it's the fact he dived in their final third, lost the ball, faked a head injury and continued to fake it whilst they went up the other end and attacked our box.
He wasn't up till after we'd managed to stop their attack.

If Ayling was doing that every week, he'd be getting called every name under the sun.

He specifically said exactly that, yes, on a TikTok post of a Hansen fan account highlights reel from his time at NEC.

Someone on this page said they'd "washed their hands" of him because of his "cheating antics" which is pretty all encompassing and by that definition basically what Ayling does.

You’re comparing a striker with an attacking midfielder for starters. I wouldn’t be in a rush to play him up top!

I’ve always liked him in the limited bits I’ve watched. Isn’t scared to have a shot and has a bit of flair.

Can’t do any worse than Sarmiento.
Hansen is just a bit soft and not very suited to contact sport one thinks.

You kind of want him to prove you wrong and him become more robust and maybe mature a bit as well and think, you know what; I need to toughen up a bit and get back up and go again if I get whacked by a defender etc.

Perhaps the coaching staff have had a couple of heart to heart discussions with him about where he needs to learn and fast

Good god if he is an impact sub then I’m not sure what our current starting 11 forward players are . They are about as impactful as a sponge hammer
