Songs that emotionally cut you

Been listening to this playlist a fair bit, really cheering me up in these difficult times :ROFLMAO:

Some great music included so far. Here's another that has always affected me from former Coral man Bill Ryder Jones about the loss of his brother and the impact it had on his parents. This week I unfortunately had to attend the funeral of my cousins son who took his own life at only 19. At the funeral I couldn't take my eyes of his mum and dad just trying to imagine the pain and heartache they must be going through. As a parent I can't imagine there is anything more painful than losing a child.

Apropos of nothing I was blindsided this evening by a guest on Radio 4's Front Row. Rhiannon Giddens, the fiddle played in one of my favourite bands, The Carolina Chocolate Drops, was talking about her opera podcast and was suddenly invited to sing, in Scots Gaelic. She sang with such rhythm and precision I suddenly realised I had tears pouring down my face. It wasn't your traditional emotional tune, just beautifull rhythm, precision and breath. I think she's just become my new musical heroine.

Considering I've never been married this is a track I've been meaning to learn as a cover for far too long because it has a ton of feeling.
