oh come on, the British able to close down towns? They took people to quarantine with a bus driver dressed like he was driving the Cargo Fleet Club Kiddies Treat trip to Seaton Carew circa 1968.

As I have said here, my son lives in Wuhan. He arrived at Heathrow the DAY AFTER the Chinese had sealed Wuhan. He self declared to be met by "Que?" and waved through. It then took more than a week to get a coherent response from the helpline - which was wrong! If he had been a carrier/super carrier, South London, Manchester and Teesside would now be wastelands.
 
A bus driver in a blazer , slacks and a 70s kipper tie with a bloke dressed like he was on his way to Chenobyl in the next seat is an image I won't forget.

Some medical advice that. I think it’s been said that face masks are pretty much useless and that cleaning your hands regularly is more important.

Face masks prevent you from contaminating others, not the other way around. Where I work, it is State law that you must wear a face mask if you have not had the flu vaccination each winter.

outside of China, the most likely next vector points for the virus to spread were Singapore, Bangkok, Sydney, Dubai, New York then London. All because of airport hubs.

yes I know. and? The UK are doing more? I have just written to the senator here to be ban UK flights. At least the Chinese are taking it seriously.

Nor all medical opinion is convinced they do. Germs spread via hands and in the air. Yes they are seemingly effective to stop the spread via splash and sneeze but thats half the issue. I suspect most Amazon buyers have bought them in the hope they provide protection for themselves as opposed to the other way round as you put it. And going back to the original point it seems the doctor was telling him to get 20 face masks when travelling to Europe as though we are all diseased over here. Paranoia continues unabated. Wash wash wash your hands. Buy hand sanitiser.
 
Calls today to allow serie a matches to be screened on free to air tv stations to allow fans to watch the games without actually going to the stadium.
