Soccer AM to finish

It was excellent with Tim Lovejoy and Helen Chamberlain, really good with the soccerette, the lockers with topical stuff and comedy was really good, vengabus, covvee break, the different car park games each season it was really good.

Been crap for years now, just Jimmy Bullard wearing a daft wig, crap guests, crap stuff outside. Should have ended 10 year ago

Not seen it for years but used to be part of my pre match ritual in the mid 90s

Its had its day mind. It was always built on very low level sexism etc, which in the 90s and 00s was both accepted and, at the time, funny and easy to watch with a Saturday morning hangover before the match. But they've been flogging a dead horse for at least 12 years now.

Bit disappointed at this. It's obviously not the show it once was, but I still enjoy the majority of it. I think Fenners is class, and for all the stick he gets, I like Bullard as well.

Feel like it has been coming though. I've found most of the bands/acts they've had on this year have been rubbish, and there's so many guests they get on who I've never heard of. The introduction of the Kmita's over the past few weeks has been absolutely dire as well, I don't know who has thought bringing that section to the show was a good idea?!

Yeah agree with a few comments.

In it's day it was absolutely brilliant early morning TV. I rarely missed a show, unless I was going to an away game. Loved it in the 90's and early 00's.

Since Loveyjoy left, and then they changed things - soccerette, Wheatsheaf, etc, then it quickly turned sh!te.

I haven't watched it for years as I fell out of love with it a good decade ago.

I'm surprised it's taken this long to axe it.

Just seen that the slot will be taken by that 'Saturday Social'. Never watched it fully, but I often catch bits before Soccer AM, and it looks terrible. It seems like just about anybody these days can stick a few videos on YouTube/TikTok etc and then be brought onto mainstream tele to talk nonsense. Obviously targeting the younger demographic, but it's terrible.

It was great Saturday morning TV between the years of 2004 - 2009, a part of the ritual, but it has definitely had it's day and has been on a rapid decline since Max Rushden left. It's done well to last 30 years let's be honest.

The other show they have on a Saturday morning is even worse mind, Saturday Social I think it's called? Awful.

They should do Soccer PM.. like a naughtier version.

Like when they had Baywatch and then Baywatch ‘nights’
If they got Lovejoy and Chamberlain back maybe.

I quite liked Fantasy Football League when it first came back but even that, after 16 episodes, is basically done now. The world moves on.

In a weird way it almost feels as if football takes itself too seriously now for comedy to be part of it. I'd be happy to see a Quickly Kevin Will He Score experiment on telly, then you could at least get some of the 90s characters on telling stories about the stuff that used to be funny that they wouldn't get away with now.

Have ended up down a bit of an old school Soccer AM hole on YouTube, forgotten how much I used to laugh at the stuff. Barry Proudfoot, Topless Weather, The 3rd Eyes, Soccerette (Great age! It'll never last!) The Dance Offs were always brilliant as well, hard to believe the viewers knew basically every single cast/crew member. Can't believe it used to be on for 3 hours too, used to fly by.

FFL seems to rotate through the same 3/4 guests on repeat every week!

There's been some great sketches and moments on Soccer AM and even know a few Boro lads who have been on it. They all spoke highly of Tim Lovejoy and how he looked after before and after the programme.

I watched a bit the other week for around 30 mins and was sat thinking this is crap.

Like all good things, they have an ending - Thanks for the memories.
