Soccer AM to finish

It was originally called Soccer Extra from 1994-1997. Helen Chamberlain and Gary Stevens presenting, before Lovejoy joined, it was a more serious look at football of the day. There used to be fan representatives from every premier league football club.

Can't recall who ours was but he was on quite regularly if I recall.

Funnily enough, was watching some old dance off's on utube last week, was hilarious back in the day. Catch snippets it every now and again these days, but don't religiously make a point of sitting down and watching like I use to

About time....cringeworthy pile of shi%e.....
The sheer embarrassing nature of the light touch conversations is totally past its sell by date
In the 90s soccer am was 1st class essential viewing and I loved it but it died when hells bells and lovejoy left

My Saturday mornings involve a bacon sandwich and the fantastic ITV4 coverage of The Big Match. Cracking stuff from 79/80 etc
I do like Fenners tbh and the whole thing was a lot funnier during the "centrifugal force" years!

Like many it was part of the Saturday ritual for many years. Lovejoy and Chamberlain were brilliant together and it wasn't the same once Lovejoy left. I haven't seen it for years.

As others have said, was brilliant years ago but been rubbish for years. I was talking to a mate about it a few weeks back and I was on about the snippet they did, Emerson's Soccer Locker, but he can't remember it at all. I haven't made it up have I??? :ROFLMAO:

The demographic they were aiming for back in the 90s…..lads 20s & early 30s no longer watch TV these days and us original folk are all washed up with nostalgia and sarcasm and have chores Saturday morning pre match rather than hangovers and last night’s kebab!

Can’t say I’m surprised really. I’ve watched bits of it this season - Shocker Saturday has its moments but that’s about it.

I was once part of Boro fans of the week many years ago in the Chamberlain / Rushden days and it was a really good weekend - topped off with beating QPR 5-1!

We got looked after though and it was a cracking weekend. It’s been dying a slow death for a long time now unfortunately.

The Soccer Social programme is even worse. Definitely won’t be tuning in for that.
