So who if anyone will do MOTD now

Apparently, Braverman and Sunak will be hosting MoD tonight. They won't be commentating on player's form but their credentials to be in the UK!šŸ˜”

Prem league now weighs in and drops their compulsory media interview clause from prem clubs with MOTD for this weekend.

I think there's a world feed which they'll probably use (don't forget, every EPL is streamed live somewhere) - usually dredges up some long forgotten voices the World of Sports past :)

I'm pretty sure there will be a few dissenting voices in the BBC trying to get the show pulled all together. Could be looking at a picture of a test card with a football in the middle at this rate.

Good to know Lineker doesn't just outplay fellow professionals on the pitch, he also runs rings around the media establishment (y)

The fuss - in your words - is about a Tory appointed head of BBC clamping down on an established BBC presenter criticizing a disgraceful Tory policy
while continue to air people like Lord Alan Sugar who tweets constantly pro government and extreme comments including blatant racism. It's about the double standards as much as the oppression, and the clear political motivation behind those double standards.

hy is, an established presenter associated so strongly with the BBC workibg on a self employed basis for what 20s years plus. He should be a BBC employee certainly hmrc think so and the grey matter what he can and can't say would also be clearer contractually The BBC and lineker are wrong to have such an employment arrangement same as the likes of Lorraine Kelly on itv its a tax ruse.
IT's nothing to do with a ruse, it's absolutely normal for talent to be on contract basis in the industry. Presenters do lots of different channels the Beeb is just a regular customer of his.

I'm not stupid or naive enough to compare this directly to the man on the street. It's much easier to take a moral stance when you're financially very comfortable. But we shouldn't forgot the power of unity when our friends and family are striking for better pay, conditions etc.
but lets balance this with, he does walk the walk, he has skin in the game with immigrants, he's taken at least two into his home and done lots of charity work in this area. The Beeb know this and have always known this. The issue is now that the PM and Home Secretary have installed a shill in the Beeb and pulled in a favour.

fans want to hear the players, the managers, the analysis of key controversial decisions.
Side issue perhaps but as youā€™ve raised it plenty donā€™t. Iā€™d be glad to see the back of it. Especially the last one which is always based on proudly flaunted ignorance (ā€œdonā€™t know or care what the law says that decision is wrongā€). Iā€™m in the always fast forward that stuff camp.

To be fair must add that what sets Lineker apart is that he has read them and does pull the others up on it occasionally.

what you are commenting on is the quality of the analysis not the need for it. I wouldn't argue that the quality of it isn't always the best.
