So who are the number 4, 5, 9, 10 and 11 players coming in?

I agree, we can't force clubs to sell and the business we've done has been good. The only issue I have with the summer is letting such an important cog, in Tav, go before the business was conc;luded. Why weren't we insistent on the same level of patience from Bouremouth and Tav?
It will have cost us points.
If Tav got injured playing for us then the club lose the deal and have a player who feels he has missed an opportunity plus I’m sure all the players are told that if a premier league club comes in and offers a fair price then the club won’t hold them back. You have to maintain a reputation of being fair to young players? Agree that not all clubs seem to be like that but in Muniz case it’s a loan deal rather than a sale.

Don't forget that these deals are likely to be pretty far down the line, and not starting from now. They could all start coming in over the next few days for all we know.

I actually don’t know how you get in all them positions in one window

Even just prioritising a number nine and replacement is going to be really hard

The left sided centre back was talked about in the last transfer window
I think as said above it is Wilder’s way of saying he does not have players in the current squad who are good enough in those positions to get us promoted.

Looking from a far does everyone think Wilder and the recruitment team are on the same page.
Ever since Preston he has been putting indirect and now direct pressure on them.

He has now put them front and center in the firing line as he has cut and alienated the majority of last year's team and his latest comment tells another 5 they are not good enough.

If the players don't come in how does he manage a team he has alienated.
i think you're dramatising. The players themselves will know the squad is weak. I think most of the players would be happy with a proper number 9 coming in, and one of the one's listed would be a direct replacement for Tav

It seems pretty wishful thinking to get another 5 players in - proven first team players - as Wilder suggests. That's virtually half a side of first choice players. I'd be amazed of that happens now. Either way how he thinks he's going to mould this new team to hit automatics I don't know. Looking more and more likely that playoffs need to be the aim.

As others have said, if deals are quite far down the line then it's not that wishful.

We will sign three - young loan player up front from premier league (untested), young premier league midfielder (limited appearances to date in cup competitions) and out of favour midfielder from at best championship. Lament and curse once again the near miss of 3 of Wilder’s targets that we just couldn’t get over the line - eternal optimist me 😂😂

He’s got Man City’s second choice keeper on loan.
Blackburn’s Captain and someone in the Championship team of the season for no fee.
Nothampton‘s player of the season and League 1 team of the season keeper for no fee.
Experienced, good defender who had a hatful of assists last season at Stoke for no fee.
A couple of ‘development’ strikers with a lot of potential for a couple of million each.
A LWB on loan who looks top quality, an absolute beast of an assist machine and balances the team out nicely.
And there are 5 more players to come in, hopefully, including our main striker for the season. We’ve also bid 8 million for a striker and 5 million for a LCB, neither of those deals are dead.

How‘s he not been backed? I’d say come the end of the transfer window, our recruitment will have been amongst the most comprehensive in the division, as well as leading to one of the biggest squad overhauls.
We all know the transfer market is tough and we all know patience is required and Gibson won’t be taken advantage of, so we just have to wait a bit longer, like a lot of other clubs that are in the same boat.
Personally, despite wanting everyone signed yesterday, I’m relatively happy with the business we’ve done so far, which appears to have been very shrewd and leaves us with lots of powder dry to splash on the big guns still to come.
Well, we've spent very little and brought in quite a lot
