So who are the number 4, 5, 9, 10 and 11 players coming in?

Looking from a far does everyone think Wilder and the recruitment team are on the same page.
Ever since Preston he has been putting indirect and now direct pressure on them.

He has now put them front and center in the firing line as he has cut and alienated the majority of last year's team and his latest comment tells another 5 they are not good enough.

If the players don't come in how does he manage a team he has alienated.

I think the players know we are short themselves they are not daft

It’s clear that they’re not at all on the same page. We’ve had a few managers now indicate the club sign who they want regardless of the current managers tactics. Hoppe was a pre KS & CW signing as was Forss. We’ve had zero success with bypassing managers and just getting recruitment team targets. Why continue? We’ve lost millions in doing so too, it’s madness. Payero anyone?

Think of the season we could of had if Wilder was backed like any other manager in the league.

He’s got Man City’s second choice keeper on loan.
Blackburn’s Captain and someone in the Championship team of the season for no fee.
Nothampton‘s player of the season and League 1 team of the season keeper for no fee.
Experienced, good defender who had a hatful of assists last season at Stoke for no fee.
A couple of ‘development’ strikers with a lot of potential for a couple of million each.
A LWB on loan who looks top quality, an absolute beast of an assist machine and balances the team out nicely.
And there are 5 more players to come in, hopefully, including our main striker for the season. We’ve also bid 8 million for a striker and 5 million for a LCB, neither of those deals are dead.

How‘s he not been backed? I’d say come the end of the transfer window, our recruitment will have been amongst the most comprehensive in the division, as well as leading to one of the biggest squad overhauls.
We all know the transfer market is tough and we all know patience is required and Gibson won’t be taken advantage of, so we just have to wait a bit longer, like a lot of other clubs that are in the same boat.
Personally, despite wanting everyone signed yesterday, I’m relatively happy with the business we’ve done so far, which appears to have been very shrewd and leaves us with lots of powder dry to splash on the big guns still to come.

Olena, 47 - up front, is new signing apparently
God I'm sick of the ads on this site. Clicked on a teamsheet thread the other day and got a formation of sofas.
I'm off to chat with 'shy people' for a bit, can't do with all these ads any more.

This. Some of the posters on here are pathetic, taking any opportunity to bash the club. Have we had a good start? No. Have we got the player's in a quick as we'd like? No, but how can we when they just aren't available until their club buys? Or, if we bid what we think but the selling club rejects it? If we spend over the odds then people say they are concerned that we are spending too much money as if it were there own.

Can't help thinking it's a get out of jail free card.
We've been playing the season without a recognised number 9 etc etc

I agree, we can't force clubs to sell and the business we've done has been good. The only issue I have with the summer is letting such an important cog, in Tav, go before the business was conc;luded. Why weren't we insistent on the same level of patience from Bouremouth and Tav?
It will have cost us points.

yep, I agree with that. Getting a suitable replacement in is worrying, and the fact that nobody is linked and nothing has happened yet, as well as him playing the Friday game against Marseille, would suggest his moving maybe took the club a little by surprise? In that maybe he’d told them we was planning on staying but changed his mind last minute. I mean it’s not like it came out of the blue in the sense that Bournemouth‘s interest was in the press for weeks.
I refuse to believe that had we known it was coming, we wouldn’t have been down the line in discussions regarding replacement.
Maybe we should have held on and refused to let him go until replacement in place, or maybe Bournemouth said ‘take it or leave it, we will go elsewhere if we can’t have him now’. They were certainly in the stronger bargaining position, if Tav wanted to go.
Whatever happened, it was the worst possible timing.

Yes, it has already cost us points imo, and will cost us more. Bournemouth, like us, have a very small squad currently and were desperate to get a couple in, so it makes sense that they had given us a 'now or never' ultimatum. 'Never' would have been my preference, but I get the impression that Gibson doesn't like to stand in the way of players who have served the club well when they have a chance to further their careers (as they see it anyway).

As we've seen ourselves, 'Now' commands a premium price. I guess we just forgot about that bit
