So people shielding in England and Wales can go outside from Monday

Whole thing stinks - the opaque wall they have built around Cummings and now the limitless efforts to get him off the hook and the front page. How many deaths were recorded yesterday and how does that compare with Europe? We seem to be accelerating the process to fit another tory agenda and I for one (with a shielding wife) will not be taking any advice from a figurehead with no cojones or the raggedy bunch of witless yes folk behind him.

Of everything that has happened so far this has to be the strangest, virus is in no way gone and it is still spreading at a significant rate in the community, we recorded more deaths on Friday as lockdown was essentially ending than we did when we started lockdown, so how can it be safe for the most vulnerable to go out?

Seemed to arrive at this very suddenly. Especially as we dont know the R rate for this area.

We've discussed this and decided we are going to stay in for the next two weeks.

Just to be sure.
IMHO, that should have been the sensible message, no messing about, we are at a very critical stage, 2 weeks of total lockdown, strangle the %%#! #!

This is all political to save Cummings, nothing more. As said before, so many of the cabinet regard him as some sort of Svengali, based solely on Brexit I think. They are odious politically in general, but since the Cummings incident they have shown themselves to be completely reliant on him and as such are prepared to go to any length to keep him as they believe his every word.
It's not just ignoring the science, it's a craven abdication of political responsibility to the nation all for one man who they think can deliver power.
My advice to everyone, young or old, invincible or vulnerable is to think seriously about the consequences of your actions and how they could effect others and to act responsibly.
The horrible fact is that Pandora's box is open and the more people who think that lockdown isn't for them any more will increase the impact on those for whom lockdown has been a life saver.

Anyone else now feeling helpless? There is nothing, NOTHING Johnson and the hopeless cabinet won't do to protect Cummings. Including killing people.

You think of tinpot banana republics having leaders who would happily kill citizens to protect their friends not the UK. What on earth has this country become?

JM14 when we started lockdown we had 300 deaths, that is 300 in total, we are still around 300 a day, and we are ending lockdown.

No track and trace, no mobile app, no bloody clue. It is insanity.

My advice, and this is genuine, get your vulnerable loved ones to remain isolated for another couple of weeks and re-assess the situation then. If track and trace is working well and there has not been a sharp increase, then maybe, just maybe.

The government are ignoring their own nandos coron 'o' meter rules and trying to move the countries narrative on and they do not give a hoot about who suffers as a result.

For those who want the lockdown ended, even if you are right, the government are making this decision based on a knee jerk reaction, not science based evidence and advice.
