And I'm finding this tough...I don't know why...I knew it was going to happen, it will come back. I'm not a girlie girl so it's normally just scraped back into a scruffy bun/ponytail anyway. Why am I so bothered?? Is it because people are gonna stare?? I mean I can use wigs/hats/scarves etc, I already have a wig....but its not 100% the same. Maybe I just need time to get use to it then I can embrace it...maybe the moment has finally come where everything from the last 4 months has become "real" as people are going to know now....I have an outward sign....I mean bloody hell I only have one t!t and a whacking great scar from breast bone to armpit and that hasn't and doesn't bother me in the slightest!!
I mean it's weird isn't it...gender stereotypes...no one bats an eye at a bald bloke but do with bald women.....you wouldn't bat an eyelid at a women in trousers but you would a bloke in a skirt!!!
Need to pull me socks up and get back on the positivity train 🚂🚂🚂🚂
Thanks in advance for listening to me rant xx

Our mam was very, very lucky. The chemo just made hers thin a bit.

Her attitude - bollox to it. No wig, just got on with it. Not saying she didn't find it tough, she got upset taking a shower and blocking the drain continually. Strange little things.

Sinead O Connor, Skin......nothing wrong with lasses with short hair.

Don't panic about the down days - to be expected. You're a Boro fan, it's in your DNA dealing with adversity👍

When my wife started to lose hers we did the decent thing - shaved it all off, and mine too...though since I only had a sort of suedehead style anyway it wasn't such a massive change for me. I know it had been done before but I felt it just helped her that one time. She got a wig when she was well enough to go out and said she didn't care if people knew, she couldn't deal with a cold napper so she used it to keep her head warm.

You are doing a fantastic job of dealing with it and more power to you for your spirit and sense of humour in doing so.

Cheers for that...genuinely laughed at that Aet....I know you have your struggles but you are such a lovely human being x
Mate … just look after yerself …. my only advice if you don’t want the wig is to go out and buy a head scarf or a cap.

Or just stay indoors for six months. State the worlds in at the minute, I wouldn’t blame you for that.

Ps I’ve given Jack a nudge on his side of the bed and he says “hi”

You can do this Legz!

I have my own struggles with hair too, going bald on my head but instead I have rapid growth from my nostrils, fingers and ears which seems to be a replacement outlet.

Oh and my eyebrows now grow in different directions, right one grows down and left one grows upwards for some bizarre reason.

Stay strong, you've always been good to me. I've seen lots of women who obviously are going through the hair loss and I don't think anyone bats an eye. No one will stare.

It's your illness Legz, you deal with it as you see fit and don't worry about anyone elses opinions. If you want to go Sinead or look like an extra from Space 1999 then that's up to you.
My great nephews hair is just starting to come back after extensive chemo so it's only a temporary thing, shoots of recovery and all that.
All the best Legz.

Best wishes Legz, Mrs GOG bought a wig in anticipation of the baldy bits, but it merely thinned (and has never recovered). She's more than happy to accept her appearance and explain if anyone enquires.
If people stare, stuff'em.
"Wot you lookin' at?"

Millinery, you know it makes sense. Got a head? Get a hat!

As a "male pattern baldness" victim I have a range of titfers, baseball caps, tarp hats, bobble hats, trapper hats, Ozzie cowboy hats, I have them all. This very day I have been wearing a flying hat because I decided to drive with the top down on the car. I probably look ridiculous but I had warm ears and the sky above me.
