So it wasnt the lurgy...

Hope you've got plenty to keep your mind occupied.

I've just spent a week immobile on the sofa after a daft accident and even with an internet connection and 9000 TV channels to choose from it gets boring very quickly.

Best wishes for a quick recovery.

Hope you've got plenty to keep your mind occupied.

Its to be hoped that after a month of staring at the ceiling in Norwich, he would welcome the chance to just have a new ceiling to stare at.

Well done LJ. Excellent news to hear that you are safely through.
Now just take it easy with the ceiling and look forward to getting home.

PS at this rate you'll be a double ton by the time you're released.

As of yesterday at least he was good. We're friends on facebook and he's had the op, still kicking and now looking forward to the long recovery. Hope I'm not intruding by speaking on his behalf, mind.
I'm not only looking forward to him being up and about but also being out and about.
I'm eager to hear if his snooker has improved since the operation and whether he has also had to
learn the significance of line of sight, angles and the fine art of not leaving balls in vulnerable positions, like myself all those years ago. ;) (y)

It's brilliant news that everything has gone well, and that the operation wasn't rescheduled. (y)

I think we can say now, with the operation having been done, that it was a massive procedure. Defintely a case of taking time to recover, both physically and mentally. If that self-help book hasn't been finished yet, I'd say it's still worth reading to completion.

Now, onto Christmas!

Hello all. No problem with you sharing that news Harry.

I'm still in hospital and aiming for release by the weekend. Every day seems to bring a new challenge and new progress. I've had a slow shuffle round the ward with the physio this morning and have my own clothes on. The pyjamas in hospitals are for pygmies, I'm sure of it.

On the not so good, the heart continues to beat its own drum too much, which is annoying and limiting my sleep. Hopefully it will settle down. My wounds are painful but not excruciating, and it took 2 nurses 4 attempts between them to get a canular in to replace the central line in my neck. I nearly shouted, "180!" after the 3rd go.

Thanks for all the support and messages. Looking forward to shepherd's pie and sticky toffee pud for lunch.

It might seem a slightly odd perspective, but I'm very happy to say you and Scoobs are pretty much my go to posters when I need my perspective raising. All the very best to you and all of yours.
Thanks very kind.

I worry a little that I'm oversharing stuff on here and on Facebook but I have always liked recoding my thoughts and experiences and giving people new perspectives on things. If I had my laptop I'd be writing this all up in detail. Hopefully I can remember most of it when I get home.

You worry/overthink too much remember. :) It's good to share Great news that everything is OK just keep following their instructions and you will be home soon. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Fantastic news to hear that you've had that shuffle around the ward and that you may well be home soon.
( pyjamas ? ). Seems like we have moved on since my " Victorian or even Dickensian " experience. (y)
I Imagine, by the sound of it that it will be your darts or commentary that will have improved rather than your snooker.
Best wishes from Oz Lj and hope that the heart settles down and that you are home this coming weekend.🙏

The overthinking is on overdrive tonight. I'm due to be discharged home tomorrow. My mum and dad have called in a favour from a neighbour with a LR Disco to come and collect me so I should be comfortable on the drive back to God's Country. But I have become quite anxious about it all. The possibility of being told I have to stay in another weekend, the worry about being away from the hospital if something happens...sheesh.

Can't wait for it all to be a bad dream. Christmas a month away...I'm going to make the best I can of it.

Anyway, thanks for reading my thoughts and self-absorbed gibberish over the last 5 and a bit weeks. All your wishes and support have been hugely appreciated.
