So it wasnt the lurgy...

Update from K ward, N&N.

Still in here, no sign of the operation yet. The provisional date seems to have been a red herring. I'm kinda Phil O'Soffical about it. Can't really change it or control the machinations of the NHS or things that affect their lists. I'm just one of many waiting and I'm sure they'll get to me some time. I guess I have to wait it out, and although not ideal, it's the best place to be given my condition until I can get fixed.

In the meantime I'm living through a less exciting version of Groundhog Day. Maybe I could learn to play the piano on my Samsung tablet?

My dad waited a few weeks for his operation as more serious cases came in. Its the unfortunate reality of an underfunded nhs.

Right Jim lad, we need to get you out of there. We've formed an Escape Committee and we have elected a Chair Person, I can't tell you who it is - the walls have ears. Look out of your window, the guys appearing to exercise in the car park are logging the movements of the nurses/guards, we have spotted a blind spot on the fence that looks promising. There is a bike beside the tulip beds, the rest is up to you...

Day 29. 4 weeks ago this all started and I still don't know when I'm going under the knife. Another provisional date for this Wednesday has been cancelled. I am feeling lower than a snakes belly riding the deepest underground line. The next **** who tells me to keep my chin up will get a withering look. Surely this can't go on forever, can it?

Look on the bright side LJ. If you can't be stuck in God's own country, where better to be than in his own second and flattest country.
Especially at such a historic moment for the county's capital; accepting it is going to be relegated after only 11 games and appointing a manager to try and get it up again next season.
Keep your chin up mate..........

It's awful all these people who send irritatingly positive messages, isn't it?

Did you know over 11,000 people have gone in to hospital for non covid related reasons but have actually died of covid as a result?

I apologise for seeming ungrateful and I know they mean well but it does get hard to stay positive all the time when you spend nearly 30 days in this environment and not knowing when you might get out. And having no visitors allowed has made it extra difficult.

I needed to vent, I've vented and I've snapped out of it now. And now I have that lovely covid stat to think about...

They know how to keep people alive much better now, so it will probably be the superbug that gets you.

I hope you are doing your deep breathing exercises. Be prepared, they could give you little notice but it will be sooner rather than later otherwise they would have sent you home. Read all the info they give you, forewarned is forearmed. It will be soon . Don't forget your breathing and leg exercises. Positivity is important. You will be fine if they were worried they would have done you first, always a positive if you look hard enough :)
