Snake oil salesman Cummings in the sh*t

No, all the government has done is create a rule for one and a rule for everyone else.

What Cummings did was against the guidelines as he has the financial ability to have isolated at home in London and arrange for family to come to him if required to care for his child.

This was not an exceptional circumstance.
What’s the difference between family coming to him - would they not have had to driven the 300 miles. I don’t see the difference.

Brilliant... did I say I agreed with him? I said the government have said he didn’t break the rules. Read it again before having a pop at me and with your faux outrage

Don’t see why you need to wait if Dominic Cummings has a job or not by Monday. You could easily take your child to visit the grandparents by just driving past if you really want. Also just to add I know if i was ill with coronavirus and the mrs was my parents would insist that I took my 5 year old there to be cared for and they would run the risk. I would do the same when I get older. Just because it’s big bad Dominic the bogey man don’t tell me in the same situation your parents wouldn’t offer to help. I’d be worried if they didn’t

If my parents where in the 70’s I’d suck it up because I wouldn’t want to be responsible for their death

So you do agree with him then. Why didn't you just say so?

Anyone who has the virus who drives that sort of distance, likely 2 service station stops, stops for fuel etc, wonder how many people they passed the virus onto doing that. When you are in a position of power you cant expect to be able to get away with that.

Most of us haven't seen our parents/family/friends for 2 months so yes it is a bit frustrating seeing someone just blatantly disregarding his own rules.

Just a shame that no one is able to hold their own government to account, would imagine the reaction had been slightly different if Corbyn was caught doing something like this....
i agree he should go he has clearly broken the rules - but that wasn’t my question. I was wondering whether people were this emotional about it because of what he has done or because he is the man behind the PM.

Because of what he has done. The rules are in place to stop the disease spreading and to stop people dying.

Cooper, you do know that accepting the help of well meaning parents is not compulsory right? And being as how he is the main architect of the lockdown and broke the rules he himself devised for us is bad, very bad, is it not?

You've had your question answered by numerous posters FatCat I'm not sure why you're still labouring the point. He did exactly what the rest of us were instructed not to do.

But she only had minor symptoms and if one of you is well enough to drive 260 miles then I would suggest that one of you is well enough to look after your child, my parents may offer but there’s not a cat in hells chance I’d risk infecting them.

Calderwood and Ferguson lost their jobs because they couldn’t follow the guidelines they helped create, given Cummings position and his interaction with SAGE how is he any different ?

exactly- I posted this on the other thread

“ He’s going nowhere ( sadly) this is the man who won the brexit vote, the man who masterminded a campaign that gave the tories one of their biggest post war election majority’s, and let not forget not only does he know where the bodies are buried he helped dig the graves.”

There is no doubt his actions are hypocritical and any one else in his position it prob would signal their demise ( or sever sanction) but Boris has signed a Faustian pact and Cummings knows it. Let’s not forget The PM chose Cummings over that of the his own chancellor.

He’s going no where, could you imagine if was sacked and became an out spoken critic of the regime. The regime he helped build and mould the one man who does know how and why sage acted as they did. He could end this govt in one article and Boris knows it.

The irony of your post is lost on you obviously. It is the very epitome of faux outrage.

But I've worked you out: You are an attention seeker.

Two wrongs don't make a right Randy. Certainly not a wrong that could make your parents ill or worse.
Appreciate what you are saying dood I really do but isn't it obvious now that it might not actually be as dangerous as we've been led to believe?

Chef medical officer of Scotland, resigns as feels the rules don't apply to her. Ferguson whose model has directly led to the destruction of the British economy and loss of hundreds of thousands of jobs has a woman round to get his d*ck wet whilst under lockdown. Boris and his current bit on the side constantly moving back and forth from her apartment, downing street and chequers. Kinnock visiting family for a birthday party.
I am 99% certain I had a dose of this in January, the lads at work all feel the same, a few of my circle of friends all in agreement, even my parents, one of which was bed bound for 2 weeks, same feelings.
Lockdown is a farce and has been from the start. I've "complied for over 2 months now with no real end in sight unlike the populations of Spain, Italy, France, Germany etc who all have leaders with a definitive action plan that isn't bases on guesswork and s***y science models that doesn't work.

I'm done mate, that's just my thoughts. Sick of this one rule for one and another rule for the rest.

Probably because he is the man behind the PM.
If it was a family on an estate, we would shake our heads, declare them to be irresponsible idiots or too thick to understand the guidelines. However, this is the PM's right hand man; the one who has a seat on SAGE and the architect of the lockdown. I'm sure you agree that he should come in for more scrutiny than most.

Don’t blame you randy for thinking like that, a lot of people are going to feel the same.

What’s the difference between family coming to him - would they not have had to driven the 300 miles. I don’t see the difference.

It would be more reasonable for him to get a none vulnerable friend or family to look after his child either at his home or take the child back with them so he and his wife could quarenteen.

Neither circumstance is within the rules but one does not expose vulnerable elderly relatives or require symptomatic people to drive 260 miles, hence why their reasoning is flawed.

He should have done what everyone else had/has to do and stay at home as per guidence.

Well Johnson is going to get tortured if Cummings doesn’t go - they can defend him or just keep quiet as much as they want, but he’s going to go, he won’t survive this

That's because you are not aware that he put a child into a car with two infected people and drove the length of the country. If you knew that you would not be asking this question.

Apart from the ERG and the other rabids there's quite a lot of people who can't stand Cummings and the direction he's taking the party. Maybe this is the opportunity they have been waiting for. The NHS climb down last week was due mainly due to unhappy Tories.
