Smoggydave 12 years.

Hope you're doing ok now. Sounds awful.
It was a long time ago, I am sure the police only let me see the least of it. They were brilliant.

I have no idea why I could not drive over bridges though and once turned round to go home half way to a week away.

Thanks for the thoughts.

Mate of mine had the same thing.

She slammed his fingers in the door.
They fought with kitchen knives and skewers.
She even said he was like a disease without any cure.
He moved out of the house and so she moved next door.
She even cut a hole in the wall.
The worst part is that he woke to find her sleeping next to him.

Isn't domestic violence funny !

James - Laid. Probably not the time and place, TBF.

I hope we're now moving away from the days of when Cops laughed at male victims of domestic violence.

But not obviously people on this messageboard who think that quoting song lyrics is amusing.

Even today I don't realise what people have to put up with, I have been incredibly lucky.

My thoughts to all the above who have had to cope day to day with such vile stuff.

Awful story that and I hope you are ok now!

Can I just ask - was it a gradual progression of violence - did it start with something small and then get worse?
I've known a couple of people badly injured through domestic abuse and they found it hard to get out of that cycle.
I've only just seen your reply mate. My alerts don't seem to be working properly on here at the moment. It was a gradual thing. She was on her best behaviour for the first few months and then it went downhill from there. Main reason I stayed with her for so long was because she was married when we got together. After I'd broken up someone else's marriage it felt like a 'made your bed, now you have to lie in it' situation and I think that a part of me thought that the abuse was the universe taking revenge on me for doing something so terrible and that I deserved it and that maybe it was all my fault. Like I said, I was young and stupid.

It’s my job so no surprise that I would say this. But let’s acknowledge and recognise the courage of the survivors who came forward to share their experiences. Every day I tell people it’s not too late to share their story. It really isn’t too late.
but for some it may be too early.

The horrible chunt used to accuse me of being a paedo under secondary usernames. Once by my actual name which he found through a twitter link on an old thread when I'd had an incident with James Wharton. Clearly he was projecting. I wasn't always 100% sure it was him but it stopped when he left the board.

He used to say vile things, edit his post, then cry about getting bullied. People used to start threads defending him and telling people to leave him alone. I defended him against homophobic abuse multiple times yet he'd still repeatedly accuse me of homophobic remarks when I called him out on his other awful nonsense.

Seems to be a common RWNJ MO - they go around routinely accusing all and sundry of being nonces / paedos because they are deflecting from their own proclivities or projecting their own negative characteristics onto others

See the number of Tory MP sexual offenders in the news and the number of Tommy Robinson associates in the EDL since convicted of child related sexual offences and the pattern is obvious
