Smith to Norwich

Just say no - he's free to join them in the summer when he's out of contract but why would we strengthen a rival? Sorry Tommy, youre staying put
Exactly this.

I doubt he'd throw his toys out of the pram, seems like a very good pro and in any case he needs to impress to earn a new contract either here or elsewhere.

So even if he was unhappy over being denied the move, it's in his own interests to carry on putting maximum effort in and keep his place in the team. Probably on a promotion bonus too.

I think the articles this morning and the Norwich link would suggest a new contract is being discussed.

Agent - if he's so important give him some more money and a longer deal.

Boro - here's £500 a week and 18 months.

Think he will want more than that like 🤣

Has he gone back in his tardis to play for us in 1970?

Every player has his price....what's is Smiths? If Norwich offerd 4m could we say no?

They wouldn't offer that for a soon to be 31 year old in the last 6 months of his contract.

I'd offer him a new contract, but I think even £1m would be tempting when we signed him for free less than a year ago.

I don’t think we would say yes for 1, it wouldn’t be worth the disruption, 2-2.5 would be hard to ignore though.

exactly, plus he will want the security of a 2-3 year contract, and we won't offer him that, but Norwich might

I saw Fisher in the concourse before the Millwall match with Jones, took a couple of glances before I realised who it was.

Wonder what lies ahead for him, he hasn’t kicked a ball for nearly two years. I can see him being loaned out this month.
