Smith to Norwich

Hopefully this ain’t true but apparently Norwich have had one bid rejected for smith and are readying another.

Smith is open to the move apparently as he played under Wagner at Huddersfield.

Tbh I can see why it appeals to him as he’s only got a contract until the end of the season and we aint opened up negotiations with him.

Don’t shoot the messenger

Wouldn't want to lose him, get him signed up! He's a very proven player at this level and is only 30.

He's been a real plus. If he does have other interest, I guess it will come down to whether we give him another year, maybe more money. However I'm sure Boro would suit him better than Norwich.

Remarkable how much we've all changed our tune on Smith.

Not long ago I don't think anyone would've battered an eye lid at the thought of him going.

Now he's our #1 and first choice RB. And not only that, you can tell he's a proper leader on the pitch and a role model for the youngsters.

His attitude is first class and I would be sad to see him go.

His experience is valuable too.

You can imagine the story stemming from their message board - Aarons is leaving, who could replace him? Smith is doing ok at the Boro and Wagner worked with him before. I bet he would come here.

You have seen and read it on here a thousand times in the past - how many posts have you seen linking Man U youngsters with us?

Considering the length if time we took to offer him a 12 month contract I can imagine he isn't on loads, and tbh while he has been decent since he came in he is also very replaceable. We have been linked to right backs (Drameh) but probably would have preferred to kick that into the summer window.

Not worried, he's first choice right back, loving his football under Carrick and will probably get a new deal regardless of division.
If he has his head turned we can't afford to carry passengers, get a target acquired before he walks out the door

In fairness I knew nothing of him really until a few months ago. Recognised his name when we signed him but didn't really have any opinions.
