It's probably cos it costs more the machine itself and it's another thing to take money from, ensure there is enough money to give change, more things to maintain, feed and water etc etc.No they don’t, they have card only machines on one side and usually a smaller number on the other side that are cash and card. My question is why aren’t all self serve tills both cash or card
It actually causes queues because people like me have to wait for a cash machine to become free and people behind me start backing up while i waitHow is that daft? It makes perfect sense if most people pay by card.
It’s never too late. For some people it could be the wake up call they need if they realise how much they’re losing.Be able to see on statements once it's spent , by then it's too late.
They each make about a billion quid profit a year mate, i think they can afford it don’t you - have you seen how much money they throw away every year in short dated stuff. They’re playing us mate. It's probably cos it costs more the machine itself and it's another thing to take money from, ensure there is enough money to give change, more things to maintain, feed and water etc etc.
I don't see how people are being played? They each make about a billion quid profit a year mate, i think they can afford it don’t you - have you seen how much money they throw away every year in short dated stuff. They’re playing us mate.
No it doesn’t because the woman who works there waves anyone paying by card to the vacant machine. It actually causes queues because people like me have to wait for a cash machine to become free and people behind me start backing up while i wait
Sorry I meant once it's spent it's spent. Correct that it could be a wake up call to seeIt’s never too late. For some people it could be the wake up call they need if they realise how much they’re losing.
I undestand what you are saying but it is too easy to insert or tap a card than hand over hard earned cash. I've been guilty myself of buying tools online that I might think twice about if I was paying cash for it.It’s never too late. For some people it could be the wake up call they need if they realise how much they’re losing.
They’re making massive profits but prices aren’t coming down - same as the oil companies, absolutely coining it in whilst prices at the pump remain high even when the price of a barrel of oil drops - laughing down their sleeves at us poor saps they areI don't see how people are being played?
I said being able to see what they’re losing is the one good thing about it. I’m not trying to persuade anyone it’s a good idea.I undestand what you are saying but it is too easy to insert or tap a card than hand over hard earned cash. I've been guilty myself of buying tools online that I might think twice about if I was paying cash for it.
I wouldnt hold your breath on that. This government can say what it likes, they aint winning the next GE
Hopefully the incoming government don`t allow this to be implemented
Yes, I understood that.I said being able to see what they’re losing is the one good thing about it. I’m not trying to persuade anyone it’s a good idea.
Why would the government want to control what you spend money on? And why is it being traceable a bad thing?Cash is king - they’re are slowly pushing us towards digital currency. Look how hard they make it for you to use cash in a supermarket for example. The governments wet dream - total control on what you can and can’t spend your money on, and all totally traceable
I stopped playing them when they took out the 2p one armed bandits in the arcades at Scarborough.Back in the day you had to go into a pub armed with change, then when the bandit wiped you out you then had to beg at the bar for change.
Once you were out of change it was game over. Obviously if you were playing in an amusement arcade this wasn't an issue, then the powers that be introduced note changers and that was the game changer.
Once fruities went over £15-20 jackpots and became more like social club ones with regards to dropping jackpots that was me done with them
Yes that’s a very good question - try work it out for yourselfWhy would the government want to control what you spend money on? And why is it being traceable a bad thing?
Heard this argument for years from people desperate to keep cash for some reason
