Do I? Is it possible to win without scoring? What about draw when you’ve conceded and can’t score?

In a scrappy game of few chances, they scored when we made a defensive mistake. Unless you are watching football like some sort of needy child demanding that your team be suddenly transformed into world beaters it was a decent performance. Yes, we are still toothless and our bench is bereft of even a Nmecha to try to change things up front. We knew this going into a game against a team that is still essentially a PL one even with several obvious starters missing whereas as we were lucky to avoid div one and have not yet addressed our creativity problem. If you expected us to suddenly transform into a team that will create multiple open goals for our top strikers to tap into you are in for a very long season. We created as many chances as them, possibly more, they scored, we didn't, we lost. That's it, we are not the finished article, neither are they (they will undoubtedly lose some of their better players in the coming weeks, that's their problem)

This is a proper stupid way of looking at it to be fair. So basically you're saying that if you concede and you don't score then you didn't deserve anything? What's the point in watchingt the game then? Might as well just look at the score then decide how we played based on that.

Is it? We’ve given away soft goals for such a long time now and have so little going forwards. If you’re not going to offer much in front of goal you have to keep it tight. If you give away soft and early goals then getting anything out of the game becomes incredibly difficult.

Agree with that but none of that has anything to do with the fact that we were decent and deserved something from the game. Just because we conceded early doesn't mean we didn't deserve anything regardless of whether it was soft or not.

How can we deserve anything from a game where we gave away a soft goal and offered nothing in front of goal ourselves? It’s not like we peppered their goal and their keeper had a blinder is it?
 
Well it was nice to score 9 goals against the Shrews and the Geordies, but last night we came to earth with a bump and in a poor game Boro lost to what was virtually a Watford reserve side.

Any good points to emerge from the game? Well we tried , and with a couple more signings from Neil Warnock especially up front and perhaps another at centre back, we could develop into an average mid table side, hopefully.
