Sir Lewis Hamilton

He earns money in a lot of different overseas countries and pays tax in those countries. He also earns money in the UK and pays a lot of tax here.

There's an ignorance concerning how the finance of international sports works, how an individual earns his/her money and how the tax authorities in different countries treat those earnings.

He lives abroad, so what?

Not having it, he like Ashcroft, Branson , Gibson , Jackie Stewart live where the live to avoid tax. It's their decision I am not arguing with it. Every penny they save is one less spent on Nurses.

Lewis pays UK tax, he is eligible and deserves his reward, not before time.
Many knights have homes abroad. If I was wealthy, so would I. Good luck to him. People like Dyson, Branson, Cliff Richard and many many more reside abroad as well as having a home in the UK.

I would take it off them. I fully admire people who can make a lot of money, good luck to them, but if they don't want to contribute they should not get any benefits.

This idea of saving tax, there is a cost to it.

Only thing I'd give him is a head shake. Stop talkking in a faux American accent you whopper. You're from the mean streets of Stevenage. It's cringeworthy

When Sir Sean Connery died the other week nobody on here mentioned that he'd been a 'tax exile' for donkeys years first in Marbella then the Bahamas. And quite rightly so, people lauded him for being the outstanding actor he was and his passion for Scottish Independence.

By the way Sir Sean paid loads of tax in the UK the same as Lewis Hamilton continues to do.

I always mentioned 007;in tax dodging, there is no excuse apart from greed.

I even accept he pays tax in the UK it's why he claimed over £5m Vat on his helicopter.

Let the prince of Monaco give him and the rest a badge
I have a mate who works 50 hours a week and then runs a club for people unable to cope. He deserves it 1000 times more than tax Dodgers.

Don't start me on transfer pricing by large companies it boils my ....

Hamilton is outstanding and a true great of all sport. However, the honour system is ridiculous I think.

Not a fan of F1 but after seeing what he’s achieved this is a bit of a no brainer. Fair play to him

Definitely deserves it.

He's the greatest British F1 driver of all time. His records even proves that.

He'll soon be the greatest driver of all time in a year or two.

I admit he deserves it, and without doubt I would give him it, but this is a bloke and his ilk who thinks it right not to contribute to the UK.

Lots of rich people stay here he and the other tax Dodgers are not role models.

If you earn £100m a year pay the £45m I tax, what difference does it make? In 5 years you have almost £250m in the bank and can look in the mirror.
