Due to be awarded a knighthood, very well deserved.
Not having it, he like Ashcroft, Branson , Gibson , Jackie Stewart live where the live to avoid tax. It's their decision I am not arguing with it. Every penny they save is one less spent on Nurses. He earns money in a lot of different overseas countries and pays tax in those countries. He also earns money in the UK and pays a lot of tax here.
There's an ignorance concerning how the finance of international sports works, how an individual earns his/her money and how the tax authorities in different countries treat those earnings.
He lives abroad, so what?
I would take it off them. I fully admire people who can make a lot of money, good luck to them, but if they don't want to contribute they should not get any benefits.Lewis pays UK tax, he is eligible and deserves his reward, not before time.
Many knights have homes abroad. If I was wealthy, so would I. Good luck to him. People like Dyson, Branson, Cliff Richard and many many more reside abroad as well as having a home in the UK.
I always mentioned 007;in tax dodging, there is no excuse apart from greed. When Sir Sean Connery died the other week nobody on here mentioned that he'd been a 'tax exile' for donkeys years first in Marbella then the Bahamas. And quite rightly so, people lauded him for being the outstanding actor he was and his passion for Scottish Independence.
By the way Sir Sean paid loads of tax in the UK the same as Lewis Hamilton continues to do.
Agree, but to me there is no difference in TV to ScalextrixWhat a driver he is.
