Sir Keir Starmer self-isolating

What do you reckon to this guy? Is a Leader is he credible opposition to the Tories?
I think under normal circumstances he's a very credible alternative. However, as things currently stand in our country, I think we have fallen so low that being highly intelligent and having the ability to put together well reasoned arguments may well be seen as boring and a weakness to many people.

For me, yes, he is. The manifesto and policy detail will be the crux of my vote obviously, but having never voted Labour in my lifetime (and for the sake of clarity I did NOT vote Tory in the last GE!), he is the first opposition leader I view as credible and has the potential to lead an effective government. I'd be surprised if Johnson was PM at the time of the next scheduled GE though, so my disdain for Johnson may be a moot point

Yep, this is my fear.

In my opinion, absolutely though I accept there are others with differing views.

He slaughters Boris Johnson at PMQs every week and is far more statesmanlike than Johnson or any of his rabble will ever be.

Absolutely he is the man to lead the country. In normal times and now.

No, more the fact that he has failed to rebuild divisions across the capital and that crime, especially knife crime, is out of control.

Those of us that actually live in London don't really have a problem with him. As the polls show. As for knife crime - ask anyone closely involved with it and you'll find there's plenty of blame to go around before Khan gets mentioned.

Why? He's managed to not **** away millions on changing the buses yet again I suppose.

I've no idea whether Khan is good or bad but, I suspect, the good folk of London do. If he gets re elected that ought to be enough for those living outside London.

On the Starmer front - anectodal, I know, but a number of Tory voters I was with at the weekend would have voted Labour had he been in charge and said they will do so at the next election.
Your point on Question time is spot on - he crucifies Johnson but, so what. Few people watch and are interested.

I was reading something on Reddit the other day that said US politicians use the word 'intellectual' as an insult to other politicians as it means they aren't popular. I was staggered by this. Not valuing intelligence just seems so at odds of an evolved society. With Maccarone asking if he's credible to the Tories, then I would say yes. Credible to Johnson, absolutely. A damp rag has more credibility than that oaf.

The point about PM Questions is that it allows the Government to be publically challenged in front of the watching public and press pack. Yes whilst I can see it can be deemed to be trivial in the overall scheme of things it’s the only forum that Johnson is forced to come to and be accountable for his (Cummings) decisions.
