Silent Blockheads

Quite a few years ago, when we first heard of his illness my flatmate wrote Ian Dury a letter saying the news made him feel like a close friend had been diagnosed as he'd grown up with his music. We all added a paragraph or two and my flatmate posted it. A couple of weeks later we received a letter from Ian thanking us for getting in touch with our tales and saying it had given him a great boost. Just hearing that it's the 20th anniversary has brought a bittersweet tear to my eye.

New boots and panties playing now. What memories. Released just as I was going to uni in autumn 77.

To be followed by Blondie - Parallel lines from a year later.

"Didn't realise he was in Judge Dredd,i've never seen the film mind, despite enjoying most of the comics/graphic novels,is it worth the watch?"

Hey Bombero, I have a vague recollection of him appearing in the Stallone "Judge Dredd". It's not as bad as the contemporaneous critics would have it, though it does commit the unforgivable sin of Dredd removing his helmet. The later version with Karl Urban is also good, though pretty much rips off "The Raid" with a Hollywood budget. Both worth a bit of your time in the current climate, as it's not really time wasted these days. Personally I'm smiling my way through "Comrade Detective" on Amazon.
Look after yourself mate.

Hey rk. All good thanks mate. I'm sure to get around to them both,Stallone will def have been a factor for me not watching it. However had a quick glance at Comrade Detective and I like the sound of that more. It's on couchtuner,so in-between hold em poker sessions(no gamble) and short walks i will give that a go. Came across Reno 911 yesterday, that's funny. Most things have been out years before i get onto them.
Ltrs mate.
