Silence of The Rams

Maybe Mel's having a BBQ with a few friends, I don't know what Derby C**try have got to do with this ground?🤷🏻‍♂️
Flippin beyond belief. sick of the cliches, the excuses, the "deadlines" (?!!!) and all the crap from the EFL, Quantum, Bell- Mel Morris....
Whoever is buying the club will surely have to buy the ground?
Unless they ground-share? [with Burton Albion, Mansfield, Chesterfield or Forest?]
Lets face it - Coventry City have played at Birmingham and Northampton - before they got their ground back.
So whats so special about flippin Derby?
They are like a fart in a space suit.
Feel sorry for some of their fans - like BlondieDCFC [she`s great]
But, surely they cannot be allowed to carry on giving the rest of the EFL one big middle finger?
Its disgusting what they are being allowed to get away with.

Latest Derby County takeover news from DerbyshireLive brings what has been said about Mike Ashley's stance on Wayne Rooney as the former Newcastle owner continues to retain an interest in the Rams

Mike Ashley continues to be linked with a move to take stricken Derby County out of administration.

The former Newcastle United owner is one of the names in the frame to buy the Rams after the American businessman Chris Kirchner missed Friday's deadline to provide evidence that he can complete a takeover at Pride Park. Kirchner was named as Derby's preferred bidder by administrators Quantuma in April but after two months he has not been able to close a deal.

That has opened the door for other players such as Ashley and ex-Rams chairman Andy Appleby, who is also said to be interested in returning to Derby. Kirchner has spoken before about wanting to keep manager Wayne Rooney onboard and the relationship he fostered with the players last season in Derby's doomed relegation campaign has raised hopes that they will stick around.

However, how the club progresses under Ashley is unclear as of yet likewise whether Rooney will remain at the club. That all depends on if Ashley's vision for Derby - if he is successful in a move - aligns with Derby's.

Writing in the I website, Mark Douglas reports that Ashley would want to keep hold of Rooney and is 'extremely interested' in taking control of the Rams. It is also said that Lee Charnley, who used to run Newcastle during Ashley's time on Tyneside, would be put in charge in DE24.

In a letter dated Saturday, June 10, Ashley's lawyers wrote to their Derby counterparts confirming Ashley remains keen and is 'ready and willing' to seal a deal. "Our client confirms that it remains interested in acquiring the club's business and assets," it read.

"Our client, as has been the case throughout the sales process, remains ready and willing to transact. "Our client is not prepared for its interest to be treated as a contingency measure and would require some form of security and comfort in this regard from the Administrators and from Mel Morris as part of entering into any further sale discussions.

"We note that with pre-season rapidly approaching, time is running out and so look forward to hearing from you on an urgent basis."

Are they going to have to buy the ground separately [from Mel], once they have paid off the debts?
Yes the ground belongs to Shady Mel and is no longer part of DCFC. Leasing it from him remains a possibility.

There was talk of a local businessman buying the ground from Mel to get him out of the picture, and then either leasing it back to Derby or letting a new owner buy it at cost.

There was even a rumour that this has already happened.

As I understand it from speaking to calmer/saner Derby fans around here, the reason the EFL have appeared to be lenient compared to Bury is that Derby admin have been able to demonstrate continued funding. Right up till a week ago when Rooney had to chip in for the wages which came as a shock to the EFL.

Mel M still owns the stadium and that is not in admin so Morris is funding its maintenance.

Apparently the council who were starting to look sympathetically at buying the stadium as part of the CK deal found a shed load of holes in that potential bid, and didn’t want to be left holding a property when CK and DCFC went bust again in the next 18 months and they had no tenant.

‘At cost’ - £80m?
No haha, that was never the value of the stadium. I think whatever that businessman buys for is what he will sell to a new owner. I'd guess it's true value of 20-30m.

Personally, I think that Derby should be hit with a 20 point penalty for further falsifying accounts if they buy the stadium back for less than 80

Literally Steve Gibson was the first to publically question their administrators and years ago he challenged Mel Morris.

He has been proven to be 100% correct.

An inconvenient truth for Derby fans.
Things Steve Gibson DIDN'T do:

- Break the leagues FFP rules to cheat the 'football family'
- Overspend at Derby County despite not having had parachute or prem money for a decade
- Put Derby into administration, then run away to the states for a month to avoid questions
- Lie to Derby fans
- Double down on a failed strategy for prem promotion, putting the future of the club at risk
- Sell Derby's key assets such as the stadium, leaving the sale of the club a complicated and high risk issue for any potential buyer
- Laden derby county with debts to foreign money lenders
- Sign bog average players like Lawrence on 37k/week 5 year contracts
- refuse to address outstanding legal issues against derby for over a year in the hope they would melt away
- put in a low ball offer for the club that didn't meet league rules over debt payments
- build up 36m of HMRC debts
- put in an offer for the club but fail to produce the money when the time came
- Give exclusivity to someone without proper due diligence
- Fail to apply league rules on FFP

MM > Quantuma > CK > EFL > MA.....and that's all the blame apportioned.
