Should boro talk to the bbc tees

Suddenly, because Lineker who is employed at phenomenal cost to licence payers is stood down for comparing the murder of millions of Jews to the government attempt to stop a mixture of Albanian masses and economic migrants flooding our country he becomes a Martyr on here. Interesting potential conflict of interest for some when being urged to show solidarity with a multi-millionaire whose wrists have been slapped for being foolish.
Thick as mince - you don't understand what he said at all do you ? Best keep quiet

Did I miss something in what Lineker said ?

Well surely if it has 'gone political' then we are making a decision politically if we decide to talk to the BBC (that being to support the BBC's position to stifle freedom of speech).

Of course not we are just doing what we’ve do for many years talking to the BBC but by boycotting the BBC we’re getting involved in the political decision made by the the boss of the BBC

After that i guess it just depends as to what side of the fence you want to put your deck chair? The freedom of speech side or the freedom of speech as long as it agrees with the governing political party side?

Are the players outside of work when scoring a goal or talking to the media. If your work allow you to express your views that your choice in your time.

I posted this before your post.

no they should go on & state in a sporting interview that: the BBC chairman, sorting an £800,000 loan for an untrustworthy ex-prime minister is not acceptable - & then getting the BBC job - & he should resign.

Use the platform we are given to make the political point that they are trying to cover up.

discussing it with my mates of which several hold very high positions in multi national companies , all said they would never post anything the might be controversial or show their employer in a difficult light or even someone they work with , as their commitment is to their company or employer first . But they also need to continue to work whereas he doesn’t and I suspect that’s where the difference is.

He is not an employee.

Are we going to talk about phenomenal costs to tax payers? No..

Gary Lineker is a high profile presenter on a high profile television program watched by millions. The cast of Friends were paid a million dollars each per episode. Gary Lineker was paid £1.35m last year.. the only BBC star earning more than a million.

Boris Johnson has been paid £4.8m since stepping down as Prime Minister whilst rarely appearing in the commons. (also former prime ministers receive £115,000 a year for life) Matt Hancock was paid £320k for his appearance on I’m a Celebrity.. whilst still getting paid as an MP yet not fulfilling his duties.

Gary Lineker was not comparing the murder of millions of Jews to the illegal proposals put forward by the government which includes asylum seekers, 70% of which are Syrian refugees. He said the language being used was not dissimilar to that of Germany in the 1930s. I agree, many agree and many find it worrying that he should be criticised and have his job put at risk for having that opinion on this.

Opinions in favour of the government or against the opposition, be them true or not do not seem to cause such controversy.. this should worry you and it should worry everybody.

We are seriously looking down the barrel of the early stages of fascism.. we’re not talking Hugo Boss suits, funny walks, silly waves, pencil moustaches.. we’re not saying gas chambers or the mass extinction of one particular ethnicity. But we are very much seeing signs of government control and policies that no one in their right mind would agree with.

Boris Johnson unlawfully proroguing parliament, he lied to the Queen to have parliament suspended in order to bring forward a new legislative program. You could very easily draw comparisons with the Reichstag fire of 1933 where the Nazis abolished a number of constitutional protections and paved the way for Nazi dictatorship. They suspended the right to free assembly, freedom of speech and a whole host of other constitutional protections. The Weimar Constitution specifically article 48 set out these governmental powers and losses of civil rights. Coincidentally page 48 of the cConservative manifesto sets out very similar powers and loses of civil rights… again we’re not talking 1943 Germany when the first gas chamber, used to murder Jews and others persecuted by the Nazis.. we’re talking 1930s Germany the start, the loss of rights and the use of language to dehumanise and to apportion blame to marginalised sections of society.

This isn’t a 19 year old Starbucks employee describing their boss as ‘literally hitler’ for asking them to work the weekend.. This isn’t ‘Godwin’s Law’ as clumsily suggested by Chris McCausland on the Last Leg last night (talk about failing to read the room) This is how it started, this is history repeating, how long do we wait until it’s acceptable to speak up? I have no idea why folks are so willing to back this government over their own. Why folks so desperate to lose their rights and crave to be ruled by an iron fist?

Maybe I shouldn’t be in work come Monday morning for making these comparisons.. or perhaps you would like to slap my wrist for being so foolish.

That is some take

At which point did Lineker compare the BBC with 1930s Nazi Germany attitudes? The BBC and their Tory controllers have a huge stick up their ar*e about the context of Linekers tweet, "suspended" him, and as is usual haven't read the room. They expected to be backed by the good old BBC loving public, Union Flags waived and a Spitfire fly past followed by a hearty rendition of God Save The King.

Not quite turned out that way has it?

He does a lot of other things too. There is no exclusivity with the BBC. IR35 was the reason I went to the States in the first place.
