Shocking Referee!!

Well done referee Andrew Kitchen - didn't book a single player from either team last night.
He did give a yellow to one of our coaching staff i think.
Will it be the only league game this season where there are no cards for either team?
So far;
Swansea - 7 yellow cards.
Millwall - 9 yellow cards.
Norwich - 3 yellow cards. One red.
Sheff Utd - 3 yellow cards.
Preston - 4 yellow cards.

(im up too early and have time to kill before kids football 🤣).

Totally agree, there was at least one pull back in the 2nd half on Silvera when we were looking to break from within our half, and the ref gave a free kick (highly surprising as it was in our favour) and didn’t even think about a yellow card!

I totally agree. I am surprised that he gave a card to one of our staff because the only explanation I could think of was that he left his cards at home in error!
There should have been at least 5 cards, mainly for tugging players back after they passed someone.
Exactly what we said at the game…..also the ref seemed to use something like a Magic 8 ball to generate his decisions! West Brom player falls over = free kick, Nypam gets taken out at the ankles = play on. But bizarrely Brittain got a ‘McNair’ (collapse on the ball) decision in the 1st half), bizarre reffing display, especially in front of the cameras

Mind should have been a yellow for that high boot on Callum Brittain, commentator nodded to it but said there wasn’t enough force
Agree with you. It was not a dirty match and that would have been the only thing during the game worthy of a yellow in my book.

I didn't think the ref was great, but the one that REALLY annoyed me was when we broke down the right hand side in the first half, a West Brom player went down very easily under a fair challenge, and the lino bought it hook, line and sinker. We would've been away.

I thought due to it been a late kick off and the paperwork involved in issuing a yellow was putting him off booking anybody. There was a tackle early in second half and he didn’t bother to book him. At that point I knew he wouldn’t book anybody all night. As the bar had ben set very high

I thought he was good tbf

He let a lot go, but was even-handed with it and I thought it made for a better match.

Got a lot of abuse for not giving us a pen, but it looked a fair tackle to me.
Sat in the North West corner, directly in line with the tackle. It should have been a pen. To be fair to the ref, I hink his view was obscured by the chasing players

I sit in west level with the challenge, if it was the one on Conway, got to disagree as he knocked the ball first. Not a Penna for me

He looked a bit disinterested to me, like he couldn’t be bothered with it all.

Yellow carding a player might have involved some kind of interaction with the game.

No, it was before that one. I don@t know the Boro forward but he was a good yard inside the area , very central when he was tackled. The defender caught his foot and he went down. We were al screaming for the pen. None of us were biased of course
