Sheff Utd fans big day

We can't influence the game tonight, unfortunately. We just need to keep our heads down, train hard, and keep doing what we have been doing, even with a couple of hiccups on the way. I'm fairly confident we'll overtake Sheff U in the run in but it will be a close thing, maybe down to the final day. How good would that be for our entertainment, but not our heart health?;)

Wasn't Carroll given a masterclass in elbow management, on the field of play, by Shearer? I remember when an opponents head was the villain when it collided with Shearer's boot:D

I think we are going to slip up at least twice in the remainder of the season and it depends who's it against and when to how important it will prove to be, but saying that I now think SUFC are good to slip up 3 times in the coming weeks and hopefully a 4th time.
I wasn't expecting SUFC to loose tonight but someone on here pointed out Readings difference in their home and away form so I am now seeing tonight as a potential unexpected hit.

Massive game for them as I fancy them to drop points Saturday against Luton, we could be 2 behind after Saturday and then the pressure will be immense. Never thought I'd be excited at the thought of watching Reading V Sheff United but here we are.

If I was a blade I'd be worried about the scoring form of their key players league goalscoring has dropped off massively for many of them:

McBurnie 2 goals in 10 games
N'Diaye 1 goal in 15 games since November
McAtee 1 in 7
Billy Blunt hasn't scored in 9 league games since December
Sander Berge 1 goal in 9 since December

They can't keep hoping for the defenders and midfielders to bail the strikers out. That'll backfire soon enough

Funny how they think pressure will be back on us.

We have literally zero pressure on us.

It's theirs to lose. We are already well ahead of where we expected, when Carrick first took charge, whereas, 2 months ago they were already preparing for the Premier League.

Even their January transfer window activity (or lack of activity) was down to the fact they had 1 foot in the PL next season...hence why they didn't sell Berge, in the hope the money from promotion to the PL in a few months will bail them out.

Nothing but a win tonight for Sheff Utd means the door opens a little wider.
 
Obviously I really hope Reading can get something tonight, but we just need to be relentless - go to Swansea at the weekend and bag another 3 points. Then take care of Stoke.

Sheff Utd will then know Boro are not going away and they have displayed some tension and definite nerves in recent weeks... you never know.

when is Paul Heckingbottom due to actually have some sort of punishment for his antics and red card against us. he had until 23rd feb to respond to the charge and since then there has been no mention of it at all
