Sheff United v Blackburn

Another defeat, no fillip of a semi-final, no big Wembley payday, another loss at 'fortress' Bramall Lane, and two weeks to stew on it.. Stick it to them Rovers.
I agree. I can understand wanting Sheffield to play more games, and be further exhausted, but I think a cup defeat by another team below them in the league dents confidence further and has a bigger impact on them

Of course it does

Exactly

How the tell are these second btw they are dreadful.

Well kiss of death there
A win will put a spring in their step before they head to Norwich.

Few million in gate receipts from Wembley will also ease the financial pressure they're under for a couple of weeks, and that might be all the breathing space they need to clinch second.

Pressure is pressure, whether it be form or financial.

I'm torn. Can see the point there, but I also think going out of the cup then just enables full focus on the league. A cup semi final at Wembley surely has to take their minds/focus off fixtures around it. Also an additional game to fit in - injuries, suspensions etc possible.
