SHACK

Mick Head, proper genius! Not forgetting his brother John either, some of his songs are some of the best Shack songs. Listen to this for example, a B-side ffs! One of the best vocals you could ever wish to hear (y)

Shack - Not Afraid of Loving You

I love Shack. This is one of my favourites from their first lp Zilch. Not surprisingly this track is very Pale Fountains like.

privileged to have seen them as the backing band for Arthur Lee in 1992 in Liverpool. I had bootlegged 'the return of Arthur Lee' gig on my new sony walkman recorder and couldn't wait to get home to hear it. Put the cassette in the machine and I was gutted as it was total silence - I'd obviously pressed the pause button instead of record...fortunately the gig had been bootlegged by someone more capable than myself and later made available on CD many years later

Saw them support Arthur a couple of nights prior to that at the Europeen in Paris.

I couldn't believe Arthur was still alive as the last I'd heard about him he was doing time for firearms offenses 5 or 6 years prior to seeing the posters appear in Paris.

I missed going back to uni to see the gig and it meant I had to resit the whole year, but it was worth it
