Sedwell going....Johnson purges all Remainers

Spot on.

Those who think this country will swill down the plughole to the depths of North Korea are deluded. The people of this country would not allow it for a start off.
They ARE allowing it though? The civil service is being disbanded before our very eyes. I can't see anyone stopping this right now? It's ACTUALLY happening. North Korea may be a bit strong but look at how dictatorships are being created in places like Turkey and Hungary to see how easy it is for a "democratic" nation to suffer this.

Who knows, I’m not involved in the political discussions going on as neither are you. It may go as smoothly as outlined, it may not. I do know it won’t be Armageddon though. In the meantime I’m getting on with my life instead of wetting myself each time a brexit story emerges.

"Armageddon" will be relative and for alot of people who are "wetting" themselves are deeply terrified for their futures due to the total unknowns a no deal would bring.

Remember this government had a "oven ready" deal which it has torn up as soon as it managed to convince enough people to vote for them.

Every EU country knew what was happening during the negotiations....The EU, by law had to publish the results of each period of meetings.
This UK Government decided the that Parliament would not be or allowedsee or to discuss the the progress of the talks.
This will happen, things that we have taken for granted for over 40 will just stop 1 minute after we leave with no deal. Some will impact immediately, others will take time.
It will get messy very quickly.
The link below has been available for more than 3 years. It sets out sector by sector the impact of that scenario. It's not 'Project Fear' just the rules, which we helped write...and in a lot of cases were responsible for instigating...the main one being the single market.

And yet we haven’t left on No deal. It may happen, it may not. Unfortunately too many conspiracy theorists like to believe it’s the only way as it’s suits the narrative. Then you have some who despite stating how catastrophic a no deal would be seemingly want it to happen to say “I told you so”.

I take medication on a daily basis. Am I worried it’s suddenly gonna run out? Not really. I don’t even think will leave on no deal in the first place anyways

Personally, not interested in CT's. The site just gives information as to what will happen within a given scenario. If that should arise.

Ah yes, those pesky small business's who will be directly effected and ruined by WTO trade tarrifs. How dear they want the plan longer than 6 months into the future.

You may feel comfortable about living with you head in the sand but millions do not and nothing this government is doing points to it actually wanting a deal. Hardly a conspiricy is it?

1 of the 4 types of medication I'm on comes from europe, so I am worried as again, the government as done nothing but pay lip service to the issue.

Weren't all the "experts" saying the same after Boris got elected about the withdrawal agreement. All pi ssing their pants about the inevitable no deal / WTO / crashing out scenario

How did that turn out ?

I think it’s interesting how desperate Johnson is to get Brexit back in front of everybody because he knows that’s how he got his win.

But there is no argument to be won anymore, people are no longer bothered about it, it looks like he is still fighting yesterday’s battle.

Its a bit like when he keeps harping on about Churchill, but you can’t keep landing on the Normandy beaches, you only do it once.

We have now moved on to the devastating battle with Covid19 which he is already losing heavily because he locked down too late.

Government approval is through the floor and Starmer already ahead before even announcing a policy.

North Korea, Nazis and EFL version of what’s gonna happen the day is extremism at its best.

I never mentioned anything about small business... but as much as they want to plan ahead they will have to wait. As stated everyone knows a what no deal will look like so I suspect them businesses have a plan in place for that scenario.

It is a conspiracy theory saying the government only want no deal. Unless you have inside information to the contrary.

It’s not burying your head in the sand. It’s called more important things in life to worry about at the moment. Not what may or may not happen sometime in the future which I have no control over

It also doesn’t matter, at the last election Johnson was given the mandate/instruction to just get us out deal or no deal, whatever we get is what the 45% voted for, I really do believe it is a non issue.

What happens in the aftermath is what Johnson will have to answer for if it’s a mess.

Brexit has happend, but the type of Brexit we get is still very important. Whatever we get won't be what most people who voted Leave thought they were voting for and economically it is going to be worse than what we had.

However, what is far more important is how we got to this point and what it means going forward. We now have a very narrow section of society in charge. They are largely of a similar age, background, status, education, married with 2 kids, basically there is no variety. They are naturally going to see things through the prism of their own experiences. This has been a trend for a while, not just this government. What is different with this government is that these people are also specifically chosen because they are largely of the same mindset and philosophy of Boris/Cummings. Most of them genuine believers, some because of ambition, courage, conviction, independent thought or integrity.

This is not a recipe for good decisions on behalf of the majority of the country. When you add to that the influence of those backing the Party behind the scenes (Matthew Elliot/Russians/Bannon/the people behind Trump), the takeover of the Party membership by the UKIP, the ERG party within a party, in the consideration of who comes first, the majority of the country fall a long way down the pecking order. Focus first will be on what the Party backers are paying them to do, then their members, then voters (as judged/swayed by Conservative commentators in the media).

On top of that, these people are used to lying with impunity and getting rewarded for it. They now believe they are right about everything, because they won the vote on Brexit and then people endorsed them at the last election. In their view the right way to do things is to lie and spin because those ways were successful, so they must be right. These are the people who ignore all experts unless they happen to agree with them, remember.

Hence here we are with the Covid fiasco. What will be the next fiasco? The implementation of Brexit is the one we know, but what else could there be around the corner? It would have been the NHS, but maybe thanks to the side of the bus AND Covid that might just be too difficult, especially if Trump loses in November.

Does everyone know what a No Deal will look like?

Go on then, tell me what it will look like for one of the following, just one.

Fishing
Lamb Farmers
UK sugar industry
UK car manufacturers
The Road Haulage sector

Quite depressed about the way the country appears to be heading. I’ve told my three kids to seriously consider their futures away from the UK while they’re still young enough to get out. The Mrs an me are looking to Ireland if things get unbearable here. Dread to think what things will be like if Cummings an co are left to run amok for any length of time

Expect a deal to be announced at the end of Sept/early Oct.

Johnson can then go into overdrive with ‘taught them a lesson, got everything I wanted, I told you I would, so......trust me’
