Sean Dyche, the new Everton manager

Be interesting to see the length of contract.

Anything more than 18 months and I'll be shocked.

The fans won't want him after the summer.

I do think they'll stay up, but it won't be by playing expansive attacking attractive football....which the Evertonians will be wanting.

Under Lampard they played well when they sat deep and had a good defensive shape about them, mostly when playing the big boys.
Think this is a good appointment for them which is sad as its fun seeing the fans have a meltdown every year.

I think short term, he saves them, but then after that they'll be furious with his tactics and style of play and his lack of sexy signings.
We'll be back in this situation again next year
The fans should embrace it as they will never be the sexy side in Liverpool and historically their best success has been with Moyes in charge who is similar to Dyche (not just cause they are ginger too cause Koeman was a disaster...)

Historically?

They won nothing under Moyes.

Howard Kendall is who their best success was with, they won plenty under him in the 80s.

Think this is the obvious appointment to give them a fighting chance of staying up. Free hit in first couple of games while he assesses the squad - as they'll be expected to lose anyway

I agree - more or less what happened with Allardyce. Whether they learn from that only time will tell

As much as I dislike the man, he's a very good manager who deserves another crack at the PL.
But the pragmatic approach of his is pretty much a dying breed. Fans demand entertainment now, it's okay when you're winning but when you start losing fans turn alot quicker than they will with you playing 'decent' football

Their owner doesn't really have a clue what he's doing, it's a disaster waiting to happen beyond this season

If the job description for Everton Is 'be ginger' I'm in!
On FM my Southampton side have finished 6th 5th 4th and 4th and after 6 games of the new season we're 6 clear after winning 6 in a row.
I'm clearly the man for the job

How on earth can you go from Bielsa to Sean Dyche?

He may make them more disciplined and organised but they don’t score goals. This team is the same as last season’s minus Richarlison. Take him out of last season and Everton would’ve gone down a year earlier.

They’re carrying players signed by at least six different managers. They’re the new Sunderland IMO, staving off an inevitable relegation until the whole thing collapses and they fall into Division Three.

Be interesting to see what he does with Anthony Gordon and his current transferitis
